@moonbus saidEverything from nothing, two things that requires the both to there at the same time to exist (chicken/egg) instructions guiding processes biologically, biological systems converting energy and making it useful inside life, the list can go on. Lots of unexplainable things in the universe that a materialistic worldview is clueless about love, consciousness, hate, it is easy to dismiss one view if you only look at a very small part of the whole.
Talking snakes and blue elephants are at eye level. They’re not real. They’re metaphors, figures of speech, archetypal images, which express human, all too human, eschatological aspirations.
@kellyjay saidIn fact, you run away whenever you are asked about how the prism of your religious values applies to how people organize themselves [i.e. politics].
I care a little about politics, and if I were to discuss it I'd do it with other Americans who share the same rights and responsibilities as I have. I don't discuss it often, once in a blue moon.
Politics embraces a wide range of walk the walk issues where you neither walk the walk nor talk the talk, aside from the occasional misanthropic QAnon-style and/or Trumpist prattle you offer to the Debates Forum.
@KellyJay
American politics stop at our border
The United States' Customs Service - Border Patrol is quite capable of securing America’s long, peaceful border to Canada. So, you could disband the CIA, the Department of State, and the military. They simply consume money and waste personnel beyond America’s borders. With the money saved you could hermetically seal the southern border from TX to OR (I assume CA will leave the Union) and implement a functioning national health service. Kelly, you’re a genius! You’re a shoe-in for the Oval Office in 2024: the No Foreign Policy Platform. You’ve got everything south of Mason-Dixon sewed up right there.
@moonbus saidI'm not concerned with what people from other countries think about mine, as I don't criticize anyone in their governments or their laws and customs. This has to do with science or religion, how?

@kellyjay saidWhy does this not surprise me? You don't seem to know or care what people in the next village think either.

@kellyjay saidOK, back on topic. The human race cannot be descended from only two specimens, because the laws of genetics have not changed in the last 6,000 years. Even a person supposedly created perfect has recessive alleles. Like it or not, that's reality. Two persons with recessive alleles produce children with dominant alleles, which then carry on dominant in their descendants. So, if the human race had been spawned from only two specimens, their children would have passed on dominant alleles to their children, and the result would have been severely mentally retarded and infertile off-spring within a few generations. In other words, h. saps would be extinct now if there had been only two human specimens at the dawn of life. Infertile off-spring result from inbreeding after only six or seven generations, even if you think the world is only 6 hundred years old. This is fact, not speculation; I provided links. Therefore, science refutes the Biblical account in Genesis that there were only two people from whom the entire race was spawned. Care to comment?
This have anything to do with science or religion? You are quick to assume much, why not stay on topic?
@moonbus saidIf I were to accept common ancestry for all life at some point asexual life would turn into two different sexes and as time moves on compatible males would have to mate with compatible females. For each species while evolution is altering everything all subsequent changes have to keep every different species males compatible with each female with nothing but mindlessness guiding the whole gambit of life. All the while never losing but gaining new improved life.

That seems more reasonable to you than a spiritual being talking through a snake?
@kellyjay saidYou'r mixing up different issues there. I was referring to humans only, not different species or how life got going initially.
