It is for others to decide whether you "come across as negative" or not.

I copied and pasted verbatim from the immediately previous post about the 'body'. How can that be "out of context"?

As for your not being upset if your children died thing, I offered the link Thread 136237 so that people could check the context for themselves. I urge people to check it. From page 4 onwards. If anything, the "context" makes it all seem worse.

Did you or did you not state that you find sex "distasteful" and "unnecessary"? The context was what you deemed necessary for "honest" following of a true 'spiritual the path'.

I have no reason to believe that you are anything but sincere when you claim that you have "exposed" me "as a fraud".

These are out of context.

If you want to complain, then post up the 10 comments and response by others that preceded that post, and then you will see that all is well.

1. this body is material, matter, chemical, cells, blood, bone, muscle, mucus, stool, urine, pus.
2. the soul is spiritual......cat, cit, and ananda. (the true self)
3. the body is dead, but because of the presences of the soul it exhibits life, it is born, it dwindles, it reproduces and it becomes old and it gets diseased and it finally dies.
4. the soul is eternal and it has no beginning or end and it is the living principle.
The Holy Bible says that life is in the Spirit; and when the Spirit
unites with the body, it becomes a living soul. The soul that sins
shall die, the body returns to dust, and the Spirit returns to God,
Who gave it. Therefore, the soul is not eternal; it will die.

How can the spirit return to God and die at the same time?

It says in the Bible that the life is in the blood not the spirit.

The death of the body and the death of the soul are not synonymous.

When Adam sinned he died spiritually to God, and subsequently died physically.

You are right. But that actually refers to Christ's blood.
It's the Spirit that gives life. The Spirit does not die;
but the living soul can die.

The term "soul" has been as elusive as the term "God" .
I suspect there is more this than meets the eye.
"...but the living soul can die" ... but in my understanding the "soul" is a part of Spirit. So how can it die? When was it born? Whats your take on this? I 'd be happy to know.(ie. can you elaborate?)

A body that is living is a living soul (human or animal).
The body is not Spirit. The soul is not Spirit.
Sometimes a man is refered to as body, soul, ans Spirit.
Example: 1 Thessalonians 5:23
"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely;
and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved
complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ"
(NASB)

If we are without blame then why the need to ask for forgiveness?

Is that not what the christian way asks of us: to ask forgiveness for our sins (which we cannot avoid)?

It was their wish to be sanctified, so they are without blame.
Look at it like a goal to strife for. We all have sinned, but
we don't have to keep on sinning. We can stop with God's
help. For a smoker, it is hard to stop smoking because
of the craving; but it can be done. Sometimes we need a
little outside help.
