Unfortunatley the pub scene is changing rapidly here in my state (and the largest one below my state (N.S.W. ) ). Poker machines are taking over and live music and pool tables are cleared out. The last pub( with a pool table) in my area(2'5kms away ) closed about 4 years ago. I don't think I can even find a pool table within 6 miles of here, however I could find at least 8 or 10 pubs and bars. It's sad , I know
Our pub was "Sweeney Todd's'. Venice Beach, California. All the local folk musicians flocked there, some sweet music was played there, a sense of family with those musicians.

Then the guy sold out and the new owner hated folk music, so no more place to gather except folk festivals and people's homes. A sad day for Venice Beach.

I don't know the square miles but I'll bet its ...[text shortened]... on the northside on the beach. The city is like another city really. I never go there these days
    30km is roughly 15 miles.

You'll laugh at this, my new puppy has a thing for eating panties. (it is my wifes dog) She just found him chewing on a pair he pulled out of the finished laundry. LOL

Really? you think the new owner would've kept the clientele , the again Venice beach is world famous.

So it's a lot of house party's to play your music. The scene adapts somehow. We invite the neighbours .
Still hard to find someone with a decent pool table

miles to kms: times 8 and divide by 5.

kms to miles: times 5 divide by 8.

so 30 times 5 is 150. Divided by 8 is like 19 miles
    edit: 18.75 miles

I guess if it was only this, but it's every sort of measurement. They're all harder in empirical form but they won't learnt decimal ... I dunno seems simple enough for me. Maybe they don't teach them the right way?

Aye that it is, no pool tables in my town. Well one at a run down bar with tears and what I think, or hope anyway, are beer stainsπŸ™‚
