“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
(John 10:16)
I always thought the “other sheep” referred to Gentiles. As far as I know, Jesus is talking to His Jewish disciples in John 16.
Edit: I think it’s similar to the grafting of branches mentioned elsewhere.

These are the verses I was thinking of:
“I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
For ...[text shortened]... od spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”

It's a Freudian regression to a childlike state, deployed by Romans with increasing frequency, as a coping mechanism. Psychologically, it's very interesting.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
(Joshua 1:9)
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
(Isaiah 41:10)
I write about tiger and Shetland Primary because it amuses me and I like to needle dive by infantalizing him (engaging in sinful payback from when he antagonized me.)

Would be interested to hear (genuinely) how you balance this with the following key verse from Matthew:
'If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.'
Originally posted by @ghost-of-a-dukeI don’t. It’s payback, but it’s not nasty. I think it’s playful and amusing, but I know it irritates dive and that’s partly why I do it. But mostly, I think it’s funny. I literally lol’d at a few of the posts I wrote and re-read them with great amusement.

(Are there any other teachings from Jesus that don't apply to you? )
Originally posted by @ghost-of-a-dukeI didn’t say it didn’t apply to me. I don’t always follow it. One of the favorite online games of atheists is to troll and antagonize Christians and then, if the Christian gets fed up and retaliates, accuse them of dishonoring their religion. It’s a pretty slimy thing to do, but I’ve found atheists, when you peel away their pretense, are savages underneath.

Yes, I’m aware dive is not an atheist; I went off on a slight tangent. I hope you could follow the bouncing ball.

The 'pesky atheist' defense is meaningless when discussing your interactions with another Christian and I honestly find it strange that you only sometimes follow the teachings of Jesus and that you apparently see no issue with that.

Originally posted by @romans1009Freud would have had a field day with you. First, childhood regression operating as a defense mechanism and now clear conflict between the 'id' (primitive part of the mind) and the super-ego, consumed as you are by self-gratification and your own amusement.

Again, not an online diagnosis, but an observation of your behavior in this forum.
