Dive has suggested that some parts of the Bible are not true, and should not be taken literally, at face value.
With that in mind:
State something in the Bible that is true, and can be believed.
Then state what is simply a story, and should not be believed at all.
The Bible: true and false.
Originally posted by @eladarDo you think the bible is true to the very minuscule details? Through the whole chain of translations, without a single mistake? That what you read is sent by God Himself, in English?
It isn't clear why someone who does not believe the Bible is true would claim to be a Christian.
Do you believe that the bat is a bird, the whale is a fish, and the world is flat, the value of pi is exactly =3 ?
Yes, then you are christian. The only one.

You frustrate me.

judgment of the Bible instead of allowing it to judge you. Does this mean that there are
parts that are not literal, it can be metaphoric and still be true. If you cannot tell the
difference or wish to disregard pieces of the Bible that you don't like, than don't claim you
are a follower of the God of the Bible, since you reject Him and are making a god up to
suit your selfishness not accepting what was written.
edit: Translations should be looked at, because they are all translations...get several
incase run into language issues.

Yes, if you want to cherry pick pieces of the Bible you don't like....

Ask God for wisdom, right where you are, it is one thing if you ask in faith God will give!
And if it doesn't make sense still, the reason is more than likely spiritual, but that too
God can help with. Bottom line, it is God who can answer your questions, not always
people if you find we are giving you conflicting answers and presenting you with issues.
I would not be surprised that God is doing this to you, just to get your attention off of us
and on Him where it should be anyway.
James 1:
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
1 Corinthians 2:
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

So you don't know either...?
