@kellyjay saidThe word Gospel has several meanings but two can be applied to this matter:
What do you mean when you say the word Gospel? What does that word mean as you understand it?
1. Good News - the good news is the arrival of Christ and this good news was preached before to all the patriarchs - Adam, Abraham, David etc, that a Messiah would come to save mankind from the sin of Adam.
2. Message / Teachings - Core teachings of a person. eg The Gospel of Paul
Definition #1 was fulfilled with the coming of the Messiah so it is no longer news at this point. What is applicable now is definition #2, the message of Christ which is the words of eternal life which Jesus preached and the message he gave to his disciples to go out and preach to the world.
This is the message that you have gotten wrong. The Gospel message of Jesus Christ is not in your opening post.
@rajk999 saidThe message of Christ is tied up in who Christ is, the Word of God. Anyone can have a message; what makes Jesus different is who He is. In all other religions except Christianity, you can change the messager, but if you keep the message, nothing changes except the person's name at the center of it all. That is not true with Christianity and Jesus Christ; it is as much as who He is and the things He has said done. So everything about Christianity, the good news is Jesus Christ, who He is, what He has done, His Word, His life, His eternal salvation.

This is exactly reliable truth.
The Apostle Paul said he preached the unsearchable riches of Christ . . . AS "the gospel".
"To me, less than the least of all saints, was this grace given to announce to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel." (Eph. 3:8 RcV)
"Unsearchable" also can be rendered "untracable". Christ Himself is unfathomably rich.
He is not just rich in one way. He is unsearchably rich in every way. His wealth in what He is cannot be exhausted. It is only limited by us. He is so rich as divine life to man.
Same verse in King James and New King James
King James Bible
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
New King James Version
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
@kellyjay saidAmen.

Other translations of Ephesians 3:8
Amplified Bible

Christian Standard Bible

American Standard Version

Aramaic Bible in Plain English

The Good New, the Gospel is a living Person - Jesus Christ Himself - unfathomably rich to supply us with Who and What He is as the One appointed and anointed to carry out the salvation of God.
@kellyjay saidAbsolutely, you are correct. You can have your own gospel, which is just your own version of who Jesus was and what he was all about etc. Thats your gospel, and you are entitled to have a gsopel [your message or teachings], with which you are happy. However if you want to call something the Gospel of Christ, and you do not faithfully state the Gospel message of Christ, the one that he taught, then you are just another false teacher and a liar.

I likewise have my own gospel / version of what Jesus did and said, but I do not refer to it as the Gospel of Christ, neither would I tell people their gospel is wrong.
@rajk999 saidWe can have opinions about anything, even if we are right about what we think is true; what is true is true regardless of our opinions. Our opinions are only that, an opinion. The truth doesn't change because of what I or anyone else thinks about it, and I can most certainly call out an opinion on any topic I think is wrong if there is a correct answer. To suggest all opinions are equally valid speaks only to we all have them, but do they all reflect the truth, do they all reflect reality? I have an opinion about Jesus Christ, but even if I were never born, who Jesus is, would remain true with or without me.

FACT : Jesus preached the Gospel [Luke 7:22}, taught the disciples and sent them out to preach.
FACT : Your gospel is not what Jesus preached, and not what the disciples preached
Nothing is wrong with you having your own gospel, if that makes you feel good.
Kelly,
Do you remember that in Acts there was a woman with a demon? And she went after the apostle seemingly drawing everyone's attention to them. She did this until Paul was annoyed and casted out the unclean spirit from the woman.
"And as we were going to the place of prayer, a certain slave girl having a spirit of Python met us, who brought her masters much profit by divining.
This woman followed after Paul and us and cried out, saying, These men are slaves of the Most High God, who announce to you a way of salvation.
And she did this for many days, But Paul was greatly disturbed and turning, he said to the spirit, I charge you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And it came out that very hour." (Acts 16:16-18)
Can you imagine that? A demon possessed person seeming to be an announcer of the Gospel.
"These men are slaves of the Most High God, who announce to you a way of salvation."
@rajk999 saidAccording to you

@secondson saidIf it does not agree with the version preached by Christ, preached by the 12 disciples, preached by the 70 disciples, {as described in Luke 7 to10], then it is not the Gospel of Christ.
If it doesn't agree with Rajk's version it's wrong.
@bigdogg saidIt is wrong to promote a gospel [as in the opening post] and state or imply that it is the Gospel of Christ, which Jesus preached no such gospel. I clarified this earlier, that if someone leans to a particular gospel [eg. some like the Pauls Gospel] then that must be referred to properly and not called the Gospel of Christ, which is a specific message preached by Christ, who taught the disciples and sent them out to preach.
But you constantly tell people their gospel is wrong.
@rajk999 saidYou were the first person to use the term "Gospel of Christ" in this thread.

Do you think OP implied it, then?
@sonship saidThere are many people who claim to know the truth and call everyone else evil or deceived casting insult towards those who they claim are Christian in name only. The Mormon church started this way, something only they know, something only they do sets them apart.

While the Head of our church is Jesus Christ, it is He is who binds us as one. We look to Him as the author of our faith, and in Him we find our righteousness it’s by His grace through faith not our works to earn it least any of us boast before God and man. I can not add to my salvation by earning it, I can only obey Him as He is my Lord and Savior.
