@mister-moggy saidAre you talking about criticism of Israeli government policies and actions, and the stances people take on Zionism?
it is the jew who gave intellectual strength to communism ( rosenberg, marx, et al ) yet the modern left hates the jew.
why does the modern left hate the jew ?

@mister-moggy saidThe Nazi socialists certainly hated the Jew, and I think I know why. The Jews, up till that time, had been hated for centuries in Europe. Why? I think it was because they were a closed knit community that were affluent. In short, they hated the rich folk who were Jews. The Nazi regime simply took their gold and sent them off to die.

In the US, Jews still are affluent like they have been in years past. Just look at minority groups and socio-economic status. The Jews still rank at the top. This is why you see the Occupy Wall Street types protest "Jewish Bankers" in the US like we see here. In Nazi Germany, Hitler heavily taxed the top 4% and the people loved it, and in the US we hear the same kind of talk today.

@whodey saidChristendom was foursquare behind anti-semitism for most of the last 2,000 years too. And I think ingrained Christian extremism ~ regardless of whether or not it was a perversion of Christian ideals or teaching ~ enabled the Nazis to make the Jews scapegoats for their political ends.

I've told you and told you and told you that the Nazis were fascists. This is a fact. They were NOT socialists.
I can only assume that you fail to hear reason on this because you don't want your own fascist political ideology compared to that of the Nazis. Thus, I assume that when you call the Nazis socialist, you know better because you've been schooled on this many, many times. The assumption that you must be lying naturally follows.
"Nazi socialists" is an oxymoron. Please, stop lying about this.
Now can you take your political topic to debates, where it belongs? The Spirituality Forum is not your wastebasket.
@mister-moggy saidThat is a ridiculous notion.
why does the modern left hate the jew ?
Left wing politics tends to be critical of Israel
the State, NOT the people, NOT the religion.
The reason? Left wingers don't like bullies.
@fmf saidThe evils of the Catholic church are rooted in statism.

Constantine was no Christian, he continued to worship the pagan gods even though he adopted Christianity as the religion through which to conquer. He then set up the church as a worldly state, giving them their own land and army. Then we just sat back and watched in horror as we watch world leaders do what they do best, which is to murder and plunder and oppress the common man. Christ tried to warn us of this evil, as he evaded the multitude he fed as they tried to make him their king. He also warned us that his kingdom was not of this world, nor could be, warnings gone unheeded by the early Catholic church.

@suzianne saidWere the Founding Fathers fascist Suzy? No, no they were not. Why then do you use this label to define those who admire the Founding Fathers attempt to overcome the fascism of the state from which they fought against? I am no more a fascist that Thomas Jefferson.

Socialism requires the state to be present for every financial transaction They must be present to, not only make sure you are paying your fair share in taxes, whatever that means, but also to make sure that the funds are redistributed "fairly", whatever that means as well.
No, socialism, when implemented fully, is the most oppressive of all economic strategies, which is why Hitler was drawn to it. That's right Suzy, they were the Nazi Socialist party. Time to open those history books dear.
@whodey saidMartin Luther, founder and father figure of the Protestant Reformation was almost as antisemitic as one can get. His "On the Jews and Their Lies" is far more vile than Hitler's "Mein Kampf" in its vilification of Jews.
The evils of the Catholic church are rooted in statism.
That was 500 years ago ~ and it was just feeding on the 1,500 years that came before it which in turn probably fed - to a degree - on the Gospel of John ~ and so all across Christian Europe you had endless killings, confiscations, pogroms and ghettos and extreme discrimination for century after century culminating in the Holocaust... and here you are on the internet dribbling-on about Occupy Wall Street?
You are as much in denial as those who want to believe that there isn't anti-semitism in the Islamic world.
@whodey saidIndeed, Constantine was no Christian. He helped institute the first persecution BY the Christians upon all other religions, especially the followers of Mithraism. Before Constantine made Christianity the state religion, Christianity was quite small in size. Mithraism had a huge following, with Mithran places of worship extending from the Middle East all the way into Great Britain. But, with government help, Christians began wrecking and looting Mithran houses of worship, destroying Mithran religious texts and even building Christian churches on the remains of Mithran temples. That is why Christianity experienced an almost phenomenal growth in the fourth century. Christians were quite effective in their destruction.

Even today, if you asked 100 Christians where the quote "Unless you eat of my body and drink of my blood, you will not be with me in the next world " came from, most would say it was Jesus. Sorry, it was Mithras.

Warning, you might actually be educated and shun conservatism for the basket of greed and authoritarianism that it is.
