@whodey saidThe hatred of Jews, by people who believed in Jesus, was a problem with Christianity as a whole and not just one denomination.
Christians get wrapped up in the morality of the surrounding culture all the time, just look at Suzy and her support for abortion.
It's all a matter of what you value the most.

@fmf saidTo answer your question, just look at the current Pope. Here we have a Catholic church whose own theology is that abortion is mass genocide, but they give sermons on the evils of building walls and global warming instead.

Yes, the morality of society weighs heavy on the church which seems to be mediated by secular politics. Here we have a majority in the US who declare themselves "Christian" but will vote for a party that wants to be able to terminate viable infants. They did so this last election, this despite pretty much every church I know saying it is murder.
It would be akin to living in Germany and voting for Nazis because they had swell socialist programs, which Christians did as well.

@whodey said"Global warming", eh? Trump's "wall"? Homosexuals in San Francisco? Occupy Wall Street? The "Left", capital L, wants another Holocaust in Israel?

Gosh.
@fmf saidIf they do not support it, they should not vote for those who support it.
A majority of Christians in the US support the termination of viable infants ["very young children or babies"]? Are you sure that's true?
I'm sure if you asked the average Christian in Nazi Germany, should we round up Jews and murder them, the answer would be no.
But self interest has a way of making you turn your head and look the other way when you need to do so.

Gosh.
Well, I'm sure you think Jesus championed that just like he championed the Jew bashing.
You, like Christians who ignore the abortion genocide, are pathetic.
@whodey saidSo the Nazis were backed by German Christians? You should confront sonship with this here Thread 180265.

@fmf saidThe influence of Christ has been an overall positive influence on the world, despite those who have turned from his teachings and warnings who profess to follow him.

I think we can at least both agree that his teachings and life indicate he would not have tolerated this abuse of Jews.
Remember, it was the religious elite like the Pope who nailed Jesus to the cross.
