We don't define truth, only present opinions, if they
line of up with reality we have truth, otherwise we just present an argument.
When what you claim is reality - on one hand - 'lines up' with your opinions about what the truth is - on the other - that defines truth? So, it's not you who is defining truth, have I understood you right?

No, but you do that a lot.

You said:"We don't define truth, only present opinions, if they line of up with reality we have truth, otherwise we just present an argument." How is my reiteration of it wrong?

I'm sorry you are asking for a clarification of a clear statement, since you don't give
up that type of information why would anyone do you any differently? You see one
of the issues here yet, you got it wrong and unless someone helps you I'm assuming
you could keep asking for clarification and you could keep hearing, nope you are
still not getting it!

-Removed-
It is not a false dichotomy. As an alleged Christian you should know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is only one way, that no other options are viable.

Isaiah 43:11
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Apparently you hold to a heretical view and are willing to defend your friend's position at the risk of his being lost forever.

Some friend you are. There is no false dichotomy with regards to which way is true or false.

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The dichotomy is not false. Jesus is the way to eternal life, and all other ways lead to death.

The Word of God teaches that unequivocally.

"We don't define truth, only present opinions, if they line of up with reality we have truth, otherwise we just present an argument."

What is and isn't "reality" ~ with regard to supernatural things ~ in the sentence above is just one of your opinions. You are saying when THAT opinion "lines up" with ANOTHER opinion of yours about THAT opinion, then you have "truth". It's circular logic.

I am not asking for "clarification". I am pointing out the nonsense of your "argument".

You still don't understand, you are missing the point, its so clear what is wrong?

Really, you haven't even defined how it relates to me yet how are you pointing out
the nonsense of something you don't understand?

@kellyjay said

I understand exactly what you are trying to say. I am pointing out that you are essentially saying that if two of your opinions - your opinion about reality and your opinion about truth - coincide, it creates a "truth" that has nothing to do with your opinions.

Your clumsy attempt to deny that your faith and beliefs are simply a set of opinions that you believe corroborate each other is not difficult to understand.

Nope missing the boat still. I think I'll stop here get back to me when you figure it
out.

Actually it appears you are having a hard time understanding.

If your opinion about reality coincides with your opinion about truth, you reckon you have found "the truth" and are therefore no longer dealing with your opinions. Religion seems to suit people who are impressed by such sleights of hand performed on themselves.

Your circular reasoning is utterly transparent and not difficult to understand in the slightest.
