nevermind i will go back to argue with twhitehead and vistesd and nemesio. they at least post some arguments along with their posts. and argue politely. somehow jaywill figured that god wants him to make that witty remark instead of making the sinner(me) understand. oh well we all make our choices. you choose to l ...[text shortened]... d lady reciting the telephone book would be more entertaining than the book.
sorry.

What? Who are you responding too? Me or jaywill, I wasn't attempting
to debate you either, if you have a point you disagree with me on,
by all means bring it up.

Did you actually read the whole thing or just look at the first part of
the book and write it off? Because I have a questions for you about
one of the chapters if you actually read it.
Chapter 4 "Apprehending God" seems like it covers some of the
topics we have discussed in the past with a spin on it I have not
thought about in a long time.

I didn't "write it off". I read it in some detail, including his section Apprehending God. I would be interested to hear your question.
Originally posted by Zahlanzi you choose to like that book and recommend it to whoever will choose to read it, jaywill chooses to be an ass and i choose that the first 2 paragraphs are enough for me to realize that an old lady reciting the telephone book would be more entertaining than the book.

Cool, you never struck me as someone who would at a glance look at
something and denouce it without a fair examination. I'll try to have
the questions together a little later. I'm a little busy now.

Let me complete the book first and I'll start this up again.

i was responding to jaywill for the rudeness.
to you i just stated my opinion that that book is kind of boring and i don't agree with the first half of the first page(only that much i was able to read before getting a nosebleed)

Originally posted by KellyJay I read this book by A.W.Tozer years ago and have picked it up again.
Has anyone else ever read it?
It was one of the books I read early in my Christian walk.

I think I remember something of the book. If I am remembering correctly, there was a chapter in there that dealt with the nature of faith. Focusing on Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3, Tozer extrapolates a definition of faith - "The gaze of a believing soul upon a saving God."
Have I got the right book? LOL 🙂 That definition has stuck with me since I read it about 20 years ago.
