it would seem josephw you try to come across all wise yet you have based your entire beliefs on one book without any primary or secondary evidence from any other sources, call that wise? i call that navie...

After posting my reply, it occurred to me that there might be a bit of a "Who's on first?" element to it.

So to be clear:
My question to God would be "Why?".
why what?

You don't know me bishop. I tried everything, and nothing satisfied the burning need, I didn't deny, that was in my soul. I needed to know why I felt alone in the universe. Nothing satisfied that need. No other religion, philosophy, drug, sex, or anything else I tried, and I tried it all.

I'm not so wise. As a matter of fact I'm kinda stupid. But I do know this. I didn't FIND God. He found me. God is as obvious as the nose on our faces. When we recognize the void in our hearts, and quit denying it, then we can respond to Gods call.

edit: at least part of the answer
Care to share what you think the answer may be?

I imagine God would know "what" 🙂

Why "everything", but in particular "Why THIS process?" or perhaps better stated, "Why do things work the way they do?"

The wisdom literature I've browsed seems to address the "what" and "how" to some extent, but there seems to be little as to "why".

whether you like it or not, the truth is something created god... i find it surprising you say that's a bad question, when it's a question that would give us so many answers...
Not neccessarily .Haven't you figured it out yet. Something has to be uncaused otherwise you are into an infinite regress of questions.

Don't forget the context. They were false prophets!

Well of course they were..."the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets"...seems to me they didn't even have a choice!

They had already made the choice themselves,

Hmmm, it's pretty clear from the quote that the Lord put the spirits there.

my question would be "who created you?"... it's the most basic yet the most asked, i think if we knew that then we would know not only how the universe began, but why it did and - more importantly - why we're here and our reason for being here
The reason for being here is found in the book of Genesis when it talks about what God wants Adam to do on Earth.

that doesnt mean its right.... i could right a book and call it "why we're here" does that mean my beliefs in the book are true and shouldnt be debated; cant you look outside of the bible just for a minute? everything in life should be debated and questioned, yet it seems if it's in the bible we simply accept it and move on
