I usually use the word 'fundamentalist' as a pejorative word, regardless of religion or any other kind of F. Those who say that they are a fundamentalist have a very low esteem of themselves.
It all depends on what one is fundamental about.

I personally think atheists have more of a right to be fanatical. After all they aren't trying to ram stuff down your throaght, just trying to disprove the theists.
