Originally posted by Bosse de Nage I was focusing on the sounds of the words so I gave myself some poetic licence. A coup de grace (delivered to put someone out of their misery) would quite literally be a charitable (merciful) thrust if delivered with a knife ("misericord" was also on my mind). My dictionary gives "need" & "wish" (Anliegen) for Bedürfnis.
I like chaitable thrust, I imagine the idea of the Centurion and his spear:
Speed (the movement)
Radius (The arc of the blade)
Descent (The blade into the body)
The "I need the wrist...body cries" part may be the remorse of the chance for repentance lost; wasteland, warland maybe hell?going down when you die? the release of pain when you die? speed, measurements aspects of the "land of the living"?
