Thankyou for such a confirming word of experience Romans1009.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.“

(Psalm 19:14)

“Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”

(Psalm 141:3)

Yes, this touching of God through His word should become finer and finer. Almost like breathing. Almost unconscious.

I love Jeremiah's word that he ate the word of God and it became the joy and rejoicing of his heart.

Jeremiah 15:16 -

JPS Tanakh 1917
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; And Thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart; Because Thy name was called on me, O LORD God of hosts.

New American Standard 1977
Thy words were found and I ate them, And Thy words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart;

Jubilee Bible 2000
Thy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart:

King James 2000 Bible
Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.

You deceitfully and crookedly take out the few passages that mention talking and focus on them as if that is the main message of the word of God.

Passages like these from the OT writings of David, Solomon and the Prophets you will never post:

I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.
(Psalms 119:32-35 KJV)

Often, rather than invariably.
I'm fine with that compromise, if we can agree in turn that you 'often' preach rather than debate, that you 'often' throw your rattle out of the pram when light is shone on the weaknesses in your argument, that you 'often' show complete ignorance of other religions and repeat previous misunderstandings, even when corrected, that you 'often' challenge people to find a post you had made previously, and when produced quietly evaporate....

I don't recall you ever showing some weakness to something substantial and of consequence I have argued.

What is your lattest example. if I ... forgot?

On second thought, Show us some "weakness" with anything I have written here in this thread.

If you love someone, you tell them.
It strengthens the relationship.

Why hunt for failure.
We Christians should hunt for success in Christ.
We are told to love the Lord our God with our whole heart, whole soul, whole mind and whole strength.

So using the mouth assists us in loving God with our whole being.

Where's the weakness in this concept?

Rajk999 hates speaking to God.

Okay, there are plenty of passages about VAIN speaking.
Here's a good one.

"Little children, let us not love in word nor in tongue but in deed and truthfulness." (1 John 3:18)

Amen to this. Absolutely.

Here though it means do not just speak only.
And here it does not teach to not use the mouth.

My encouraging believers to SPEAK is not an encouragement to pursue vanity. It is an encouragement to serve God by means of CONTACTING God.

Again, this thread is not about saying "Lord, Lord" and not entering into the kingdom of God. It is about using the mouth .. ie. "Lord, Lord" to help you enter into the kingdom of God.

An ENTIRELY biblical teaching.

Revelation speaks of the overcomers. In spiritual warfare there must be some who overcome God's enemy.

Included in their arsenal is SPEAKING. They overcame him (the accuser Satan) by the WORD .... the WORD of their testimony.

Yes, the preached.
They proclaimed the facts of the universe with their mouths.
And thus SPEAKING the WORD of truth they overcome the enemy.

Watch:

"Now has come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been cast down, who accuses them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the WORD of their testimony.

And they loved not their soul-life even unto death." (Rev. 12:10b,11)

We overcome the liar, the accuser, the slanderer also by proclaiming the FACTS - the word of their testimony.

We speak our way into the enjoyment of the divine facts.
Please don't bother feeling sorry for those who have faith in God.

Faith in God is going to usher in the next age of the kingdom.

To serve Christ you must receive Christ.
You must absorb Christ.

To serve Jesus Christ you must be saturated with Jesus Christ.

We speak our way into the enjoyment of being permeated with the Spirit of Christ to serve Christ.

Again you gravitate to passages which do not make the critical point.
Here you are using the word overcome in a completely misleading way.

Here is what Jesus says in Revelation about who overcometh:

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:7-8 KJV)

The overcomers get eternal life while those who do not overcome are those who continue with a life of sin.

Overcomers are therefore righteous.

Nothing else is required.

Your weakness is found in the incompleteness of your message.

"If you love someone, you tell them." - Good start. But you fail to follow on. - "If you love someone, you also show them with your actions."

That is the weakness in your concept.

Any "incompleteness" is due to the medium being used.
It is a brief discussion forum post and not a chapter or a book.

You'll have to do better then that.

From my perspective the FOCUS of this discussion is using the mouth to contact the living God.

This does not mean other aspects of life, service and spiritual experience do not exist and are not important. My focus, if not some Atheist's focus here, is the speaking of faith which ushers in communion with the Holy Spirit.

I did not just learn this in some textbook as objective information. I learned it also through years of experience. And I was confirmed by so much of the Bible.

I'm sorry if some of you have nothing really to contribute to the FOCUS here. But you could with a little practice.

I appreciate Suzziane's input and the initial testimonial over from Romans1009 quoted.

I also have some memory verses I rely on and recite in my mind when I know I’m going into a difficult situation. Here are two I use before I go into a situation where I think I’ll be irritated, and they work wonders:

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.“

(Psalm 19:14)

“Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”

(Psalm 141:3)

Yes this reminds me of so many verses of Psalm 119, like this:

"In my heart I have treasured up You word that I might not sin against You." (Psa 119:11)

And Paul exhorts the believers to let the word of Christ dwell in them RICHLY and ... SPEAKING to one another.
All this is not for mere ceremony but for the enjoyment of God within for the grace needed to live unto Him.

"And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in spirit,

Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and psalming with your heart to the Lord." (Eph. 5:18,19 RcV)

And again:

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God." (Col. 3:16)

Here is my contribution to the singing of the word of God for nourishment in spirit and storing up the word in one's heart.
