In biblical terms, God got angry because your house strived for the
Heavens (or so he thoughts the poor ol' man) and decided to tear it
down. Sorry, scottish, but you may not, I repeat, you may not
build to tall a building or God will punish you. You take care now,
you hear?
Another good use for the bible is to keep the pages that makes sense
to you and use the rest for toilet paper. I think this is a very constructive
use of the book, as it helps you keep a "good" personal hygiene
and read a word of wisdom while performing your everyday
necessities. Two in one.
And should you later on realise that a "used" passage actually made
sense, there's an abundance of bibles to replace the old one.

Sometimes it provides comfort; sometimes advice; sometimes just food for thought and action.
Originally posted by Bosse de NageJust as Matthew 4:4 stetes, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Therefore, words can be equated with life. After all, the Bible is often referred to as the living word. In fact, the worlds were formed with words according to Genesis. Even Christ was referred to as the Word incarnate. These words from God feed our spirit man daily much like we eat food daily to feed our physical bodies. If one starves their body, their physical man begins to become weakened. LIkewise, the spiritual man becomes weakened if not feed porperly via the word of God.
