As a atheist, I read to bible ,I could not believe in so much violence,I have one question for believers in god. God punish the humans for wrong thinks, but why does he punish all the rest of the his creations. As a animal lover I do thinks to help this animals, and is very hard to control humans gread, over increasing population. What god is doing? IS HE DEAD OR HE DOSEN'T EXIST.
@cosmic-energy4 saidCreation was called very good when it was created, until sin entered into those who were to rule it; then, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. Then things started spiraling out of control, and all the things that would stop the declining spiral, like respecting authority, were considered bad, adding to the evil that is done. We went from a meta narrative where we were all under one authority to each man does what is right in their own eyes.

@cosmic-energy4 saidThe official doctrine is that only humans have souls, animals don't have souls. Only humans with souls can truly suffer. Descartes (a devout Catholic) claimed that animals are automata: they merely exhibit avoidance behavior when you poke them, but they don't feel anything.

Anyone who has lived with a Golden Retreiver cannot in good conscience believe this.
@moonbus saidThere is no such thing as 'official doctrine'. To make that claim you must be a Catholic, or brought up as one, because only Roman Catholics, under the Pope, believe they are Gods representative on Earth and their doctrine is the equivalent of God speaking.

The bible never said animals do not have souls. What it does say is the life of man and that of animals are different. The chief difference is that man is able to have a communion and relationship with God the creator.
@cosmic-energy4 saidEverything was thrown into chaos and decay at the fall. They were under man’s dominion; now they were used to help in the restoration.
@KellyJay ; Your answer doesn't explain WHAY GOD PUNISHES THE ANIMALS ??.
@Rajk999 saidHe takes that liberty a lot; he must believe some organization represents the whole outside of Christ.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidIt is not God or belief in God.
If you believed more in humanity you would have more compassion for people suffering from illegal wars.
It is belief in God that hardens your heart to the suffering of those from a different faith.
God has depleted you as a human being.
It is the greed, the narcissism, the hypocrisy of man. And the liars who claim to follow God.
"Ye shall know them by their fruits." The problem is, those are the people whose fruits are nothing but thorns and thistles. This is how we should know them. Not as beneficent, but as maleficent.
@moonbus saidScience doesn’t refute it; it only identifies what is normal now. That is a good measure for some things, not all. If all the variables stay the same, normal would remain an absolute. What we see at the fall alters the calculus. A cosmic shift in normal took place in the fall. From that point on, animals started tearing each other apart, but not so when we all ate plants.
Lions' teeth cannot chew grass, and their guts cannot digest it either. Biology refutes your opinion.
