The difference will be that then you will know where you stand. There will be no pretence or argument or debate and you will have to make a choice.

So far I haven't seen a convincing argument to explain why if god wanted me to love him he didn't just make me incapable of anything else.

I mean, he's god, so he can have/do anything at all. Why the need for love?

I do not believe the nature of love, real love allows for that.
