What is it?

Is it 1) Endless sermons about salvation
2) Their inability to differentiate between themselves and the Republican Party
3) Their "bigger is better" theology
4) Their contribution to morbid obesity in America

The Bigger is Better philosophy, championed and veritably embodied by Jerry Falwell and his empire.

Isn't 4 just a consequence of 3? Was this already your joke and I'm just that guy who cluelessly explains the joke that everyone already got 😕?

I admire their sermons on salvation, those that miss out of Jesus'
salvation that didn't get to hear about it might have not to have
missed it if they were exposed to those sermons.

The fact that they are don't differentiate between themselves and
the Republican party I'd say has more to do with the Democratic
party being so anti-God and anti-religion. Hard to be member of
something that is so dead set against some of your core beliefs.

No idea what 'bigger s better" means.

There are more than a few groups adding to the obesity in America,
so laying that on them when it is a issue in America that cuts across
the board is just bashing.

How do they contribute to morbid obesity?

Obviously with their "bigger is better" theology. More seriously, what's up with Christians in SUVs? Jesus walked.

Could you explain this a bit more for me, stranger? I've never heard of a "Bigger is Better" theology.

There is no denomination more focused on numbers. The more baptisms, the better the pastor feels. And that is about job security. Baptist churches are notorious for building projects. The bigger the church, the more blessed by God they are. Baptist churches of late have even gotten into the jumbo-tron so you can see the pastor better and follow the music.

OK, I see. Don't know if I agree, but I understand your point, although that is technically not a 'theology' - but that's neither here nor there.

Baptists are all about Evangelism. What better way to evangelize than to first appeal to what people like? Food, fellowship, charisma and big, pretty churches.

Frankly, that appeals more to the men than it does the women.
