-Removed-You are free to argue against someone arguing with you. But the problem here is that you have retracted much of the post that the link was presented as an argument against, and instead of actually addressing the issues at hand you are trying to attack ThinkOfOne and accuse him of not reading his own link.
The link does not support ThinkOfOne's claim, irrespective of whether he is right or not, which remains unsubstantiated.
I think it does support his claim. Maybe you have misunderstood what his claim is.
I've not made "claims" - I stated in one of my posts that "all" of the apostles were brutally murdered, that was an unintentional error which I corrected.
Stating something is making a claim. You did make claims, some of which you have retracted. That they were unintentional errors is a perfectly reasonable reason for retracting them.
Some of them were brutally murdered and there is plenty of evidence of that in ThinkOfOne's link, which I appreciated him helping me with.
And that some of them were brutally murdered was not particularly in dispute. ThinkOfOne's link demonstrated that there is insufficient evidence to believe that most of them were brutally murdered for refusing to retract their beliefs about the resurrection of Christ.
This thread is about "things worth dying for", the apostles who were brutally murdered died for something they believed in. [Possibly...]
And that [Possibly...] is key. We really do not know much about what they were brutally murdered for nor how many of them were brutally murdered.
You on the other hand tried to make out that they were known to have all been brutally murdered for their refusal to renounce their belief in the resurrection of Christ - a totally unsubstantiated claim.
What is telling is that instead of trying to substantiate the claim you are trying very hard to water it down whilst accusing ThinkOfOne of failing to counter your claim despite the fact that he clearly did.
-Removed-All I ask is that you actually read what I write (and what ThinkOfOne writes) and respond to that instead of engaging in what appears to be a desperate attempt to avoid admitting that ThinkOfOne has a valid point and that you are wrong.
I have acknowledged your unintentional error and fully accept that it was unintentional and have clearly said so. But your OP makes other claims that have been disputed, and that you seem to be at pains to avoid addressing.
-Removed-Call it what you like, you 'strongly implied' or whatever words you want to use, that:
1. the apostles were brutally murdered for their faith in Jesus Christ.
2. they were given the option to deny this faith.
3. they claimed the resurrection took place and was a central part of their faith.
4. if they knew the resurrection did not take place they died for a lie.
None of which you have been able to substantiate. You obviously know that you cannot substantiate them - hence the personal attacks on ThinkOfOne and I.
I would ask you if you have anything to contribute to this thread, but I doubt there would be much point as I don't think I've ever seen you contribute anything to any thread other than your usual pedantry.
I already answered to the best of my ability the question in the OP (and am one of the very few people that did). Can you name anyone else that did? Now if an honest answer was not what you were looking for, then what contributions do you expect?
Oops, for a moment there I thought you were being serious. On reflection this is clearly a personal attack on me in the hope of .... what? I don't think anyone will be fooled by your antics. You are clearly in a corner left with nothing to do but to lash out. Why not try being honest for a change, it can be so refreshing.
