[1] A law banning contraception
[2] A law banning civil unions between homosexuals
[3] A law banning interracial marriage
[4] A law making adultery and extra-marital sex illegal
[5] A law making blasphemous speech or writing illegal
not so much evil as a reaction to fear of the unknown
if intent to harm can be demonstrated, tho, yes evil

[10] A law banning organ harvesting

I'm interested. That's why I'm posting here. Just watching to see where it goes.

Depends on who's doing the burning.

Every single human being is equally subject and accountable to the same moral standard.

Does it make you feel anal knowing that? Does God owe you an explanation for everything he does?

I think, on a debate and discussion forum, YOU "owe" people an explanation for the moral beliefs you propagate. And I think explanations akin to 'It is what it is', 'God does what God does' and 'I believe it because I believe it' are all weak.

What might be called "harvesting", yes; I think a law banning it would be good: but not one banning the donation of organs.

I could just give a reason for why I think the hot button issues listed should or shouldn't be banned.
Then be my guest.

You don't make the rules. I don't owe you or anyone an explanation. I give my explanations as I see fit. Take it or leave it.

I'm an organ donor. Donating is of ones free will. Forced organ harvesting is evil.

Maybe I will, give a reason, at my leisure, but not your guest. 😁

Yes. Laws banning abortion are evil also. It's also Unconstitutional in the USA.
[2] A law banning civil unions between homosexuals
Yes. It's also Unconstitutional in the USA.
[3] A law banning interracial marriage
Yes, of course.
[4] A law making adultery and extra-marital sex illegal
Adultery is already illegal in many states in the USA.
("Adultery laws, which make sexual acts illegal if at least one of the parties is married to someone else: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin." https://www.salon.com/2019/05/06/adultery-and-fornication-why-are-states-rushing-to-get-these-outdated-laws-off-the-books/ )
[5] A law making blasphemous speech or writing illegal
This can also be illegal in the USA; and, one can be sued for this; and several thousands already have been. It all depends on the blasphemous speech or writing. It's also against RHP "terms of service" if it's personal.

What does "legislating freedom" mean, just to be clear?

Do you mean banning, restricting, impinging upon, reaffirming, strengthening, guaranteeing?

@FMF
I simply meant passing of law.
