I cannot choose to believe the stuff you believe.
So if you are not the one who decides what is believable and what is not, who is?

His writings mention Jesus as an historical figure who was able to perform many surprising feats, was crucified, and that there were followers of Jesus who were still in existence at the time of its writing.
He was writing about what early Christians believed and so what he wrote doesn't actually corroborate those events that happened decades earlier at all. The writing of Josephus is only a primary source in so far as it describes what Christians believed decades after Jesus lived.

If you actually believe it, then you can't choose not to. If you don't believe it, then you can't choose to believe it. I'm not trying to decide anything for you vis a vis your (to me) unbelievable claims about immortality.

You told me that you actually believed Christianity. If you actually believed it why don't you anymore if you can't choose not to?

What then in your mind would adequtely corroborate a historical event?

Contemporary accounts from more than one source (and I count the NT as a single source).

Doubts crept in (not because of any particular decision) and later i found myself reflecting and reappraising (again not as a result of any conscious decisions, and finally after a fairly protracted process, i realised that the tenets of my faith had crumbled away.

But the gospels were written by four different people, why do you view it as one source?

Yes. One source. It was one source that was compiled and authorised by corporate Christianity in the C5th.

I have never claimed that I have convinced anyone of anything.

If I may ask, do you at least try your best to convince people?

What makes you think you are any better on this forum than anyone else Dive? Not only have you admitted yourself to being a poor Christian, but your exremely odd and often disturbing relationship to FMF makes your credibilty low, in my opinion. You should stop your arrogance, and instead, seek humility.

It would be a good start.
