I apologise sir.

Please be guided and calmed by my altruistic atheism.
I only recently learned of your being a vegetarian, in the General Forum, and must say.....your buffetts must be lacking.

Not much to offer?

Does anyone on this forum actually know what their purpose in life is? If you are spiritual, does your spirituality impact your purpose?

I personally have not figured out my purpose in life, and was just curious if anyone would care to comment.

I'm a 'complex vegetarian'.

I'm permitted to eat cow, while in the act of eating grass.

You, of all people, Ghost, could probably shed some light on purpose in life.

If I'm correct, you are an atheist, who is willing to believe in God, if evidence would surface.

But now....without God, what's your purpose Ghost?

The odds of any of us being here are infinitesimal. Is it not enough that we have life; must we have purpose as well? That seems a tad greedy to me. (Do 6 billion people truly have a purpose?)

My dog gets up in the morning without any thought of purpose. He exists, sleeps, enjoys his squeaky Mickey Mouse. He seems content with that.

Lame answer. Sorry.

Of course. As a theist having 'a purpose' (or there being a reason for your existence) is intrinsic to your worldview.

As an atheist I am not so hung up on the notion of 'purpose.' I'm not entirely sure how i got here or what i am meant to do now that i am here. (If anything at all). I could easily say man's purpose is to reproduce or that my personal purpose is to ensure the happiness and well being of my family.

I suspect though you'd also find that lame. 🙂
