Looking at the schedule for the last three days we have:
Florida at NY Mets
Washington at Philadelphia
Cubs at Cincinnati
Sand Diego at Milwaukee
Arizona at Colorado
Colorado has won 10 straight and Arizona has lost three in a row (two of those to the lowly Pirates). I really don't see Arizona winning NL West, that will go to Colorado. I think Colorado sweeps on their incredible hitting and beats out San Diego and Arizona by a nose with 90 wins. It doesn't hurt that the D'Backs have Webb going today against the Pirates rather than tomorrow against the Rockies in the series opener. Arizona and San Diego will finish with 89 wins but lose to the Mets in a mini-playoff series.
I see the Cubs taking care of business in the NL Central.
And finally, I see the Phillies taking the NL East, stealing it away from the pitiful Mets. However I don't see the Mets losing too many more games and hanging on for the wild card, beating Arizona and the Padres in a playoff series.
So, here's how it will look:
1. Colorado - 90 wins*
2. Philadelphia - 90 wins
3. Chicago - 85 wins
4. New York - 89 wins
Missing Out - Arizona with 89 wins, San Diego with 89 wins
*Colorado beats Philly in the season series 4 to 3.

The NL sucks anyway.

Yeah, the NL sucks in general, but as seen time after time, anyone could win it all. Take the pitiful Cardinals for example... Or should we blame that on Detroit's choking?
Originally posted by darvlayAnyone can win a short series in baseball, so the WS is always a crap shoot. I wouldn't know anything about last year's WS; I didn't watch any of it. Kenny Rogers throwing shutouts in the post-season was too surreal for me; I thought it was all just a bad dream.

I see Philly and Colorado also, two hottest times at this time, which always says alot in the last days of a season and the playoffs.
The NL is not horrible, I do think the three best teams are in the AL, but that doesn't make the NL horrible, and the best of the best in both leagues can beat each other any given day. A 90 win season is an excellent season.
As long as the Phillies leave Adam Eaton, Tom Gordon and Antonio Alfonseca as far away from the mound as they possibly can, then they can definitely win the NL.
That would be outrageous if Colorado won the NL West! I guess it is plausible since they do end the season playing Arizona. You have to remember though, hot teams in the MLB can become cold real fast. Just look at the Padres, they had a 7 game win streak with a very solid ERA and then the Rockies come to town and they drop 3 and Cameron and Bradley get injured. Anyways, this weekend is going to be very interesting!

Phillies tie the collapsing Mets atop the NL East. Its amazing in that stadium right now, the white and red rally towels swirling and flying everywhere. Havn't had this kind of excitement since 93 😛
Hamels to mound tonight against the Nats. Go Marlins, take a beating to the Mets!
