I'm sure I'm not the only one that believes the Bart Simpson lookalike is a waste of space?
Schoolboy errors every game that costs points...and torn apart by the Spanish centre-forward this weekend...

I just hope Mr Capello has been wearing his glasses recently, and has cancelled Rio's plane ticket to South Africa...

RF has always been hugely over-hyped and overpaid...

This season and last, Ferdinand has been poor.

He doesn't seem to be trying to defend, and looks like he believes that he can just stroll through games. I would have him as my fourth choice centre defender behind Vidic, Evans and Brown, in that order.

The fact that he has had a poor couple of seasons doesn't mean you were right years ago when you said he was overrated.

Defenders are very much like goalkeepers in that when they have a drop in form it always looks more marked and obvious because they give a way goals. Rooney has had lean patches but it doesn't look so bad because errors for strikers don't result in give away goals. A goalie who lets a ball slip under his body into the net is always scrutinised more than a striker who misses a sitter.

Ferdinand is still a class act - don't forget he is also coming back from injury.

I agree there is some hype attached to him - but that does not mean he is not class. He's not Bobby Moore or a Beckenbauer but then not many are.

He has been the bedrock of a defence that has won the hardest league in the world 3 times in a row and made 2 CL finals and also broken Chelsea's defensive record for clean sheets. He's having a dip in form but his record speaks for itself. Just exactly what does he have to do to prove it ? Find a cure for cancer or something? You would probably still say he was overrated!!!! LOL

vidic is the 'bedrock' of the utds defence, plus evens played a lot in that run. i'm not saying he's not a decent player he it, you have to be to play for utd for that long but he's not as good as people say... and that's what makes an overrated player.

Vidic IS the overrated player. The most overrated player Manchester United has by a mile.

I couldn't agree more.

Ferdinand has been hyped up by the tabloid press until he himself believes it...another one of the same ilk is Jon Woodgate...
How either of these have made a living from professional football is beyond me...
Anyone remember Thierry Henry absolutely roasting Woodgate in a CL game when he was at Real Madrid? Woodgate came off after 15 minutes with an 'injury'... I believe he came off 'cos he didn't want another 75 minutes of torture from Henry...bloody bottler!

Wasters the pair of 'em...

Pity he doesn't play for a decent International side, or he'd probably have an honour or 2 at that level also.
