RF has always been hugely over-hyped and overpaid...
He doesn't seem to be trying to defend, and looks like he believes that he can just stroll through games. I would have him as my fourth choice centre defender behind Vidic, Evans and Brown, in that order.
The fact that he has had a poor couple of seasons doesn't mean you were right years ago when you said he was overrated.

ferdinand was never and never will be a class act. he was overrated at west ham, overrated and leeds and overrated at man utd.
He has been the bedrock of a defence that has won the hardest league in the world 3 times in a row and made 2 CL finals and also broken Chelsea's defensive record for clean sheets. He's having a dip in form but his record speaks for itself. Just exactly what does he have to do to prove it ? Find a cure for cancer or something? You would probably still say he was overrated!!!! Anyone remember Thierry Henry absolutely roasting Woodgate in a CL game when he was at Real Madrid? Woodgate came off after 15 minutes with an 'injury'... I believe he came off 'cos he didn't want another 75 minutes of torture from Henry...bloody bottler!
