So the spread is NE -7 but can we all agree to give this a .5 to eliminate pushes?

The spread is 71/2 in the AFC and 21/2 in the NFC

I'll go with San Fran over the Giants and Baltimore beats the spread for sure.
I am taking NE over Balt and SF over NYG

I think NE will win but you really think they will cover the spread?

He's going for the win... i picked the Ravens and NY so he picks the opposite in the hope that my picks are wrong. tbh after reading Manning's interview i'll be surprised if NY win.

Correct. I have no chance to win picking any other way.

Ah... I didn't see that you needed to win both in order to catch up.

No1 better watch out... SF up by 4.

Overtime NY+2.5... NY beats the spread. Regardless of who wins now.

NY did end up winning, but a FG is 3 points. If SF had won (except on a safety), by definition they'd have covered.

I concede defeat No1 but I do have the excuse of those two uncharacteristic punt return turnovers. 😀

Which is wrong... had the game finished 18-17 after 60 mins, NY would've covered, why punish them for taking it to overtime and losing? I would hope spread bets are paid out after 60 minutes, regardless of what happens in overtime. I'm not saying they are... i don't know, i'm saying they should be.

You can have whatever opinion you like about whether they should be, but they're not.

Hypothetical scenario. Jets are playing the Steelers, Jets are +5.5 on the spread. The game is 17-14 in the Steelers favor but in the last kick of the game Jets get a field goal to force overtime. Steelers score a TD in overtime and win 23-17. On what planet did the Jets not cover the spread? They miss the field goal attempt, they cover the spread, they make it and don't?
