So, what's he going to do now? I'd like to see him take a pay-cut to help a struggling team. I'd love to see him get The Rays going... imaging Joe in the East competing against the Yanks and Sox.

    What you say?!!

It's a shame the Phils signed manual back :'(

Could of use a guy with the brain of Torre.

You think he would actually want to go to a team that can't compete? If I were him I would call it quits and start playing more golf.

Maybe he'll end up with the Red Sox. They'll be looking for a new manager soon.

Lou Piniella couldn't get the Rays going. What makes you think Torre could do any different?

Did you know that Yanks had not been to the playoffs in 13 years when they signed Joe?

Lou sucks winning only 52% of games in 21 seasons.

Joe Crushes at 54% wins over 30 years.

They were in the playoffs the year before they signed Joe and had the best record in baseball the year before that - which was, unfortunately, the strike year.

He was 200 games under .500 before he got to manage Jeter, Rivera, Bernie, O'Neill, etc. etc. etc.

The Rays are more in need of a fan base than a new manager.

    You get fans by winning...

Wait, is this like Bill And Ted trying to figure out if they need a video, Eddie Van Halen, or to learn to play music first to become a great band?

Boston has been to playoffs several times in past 20 years. Most of them winning seasons.

D-Backs have been to playoffs 4 times with 6 winning seasons out of 10 and a Ring.

The Rays have never had a winning season, and have never been to the playoffs.

    Any more questions?

Lou Pinella could not get the Devil Rays management moving. All he asked for was the players and when he did not get them he left. At least give him credit for making the playoffs with the Cubs. Considering they are cursed this is the best he could have done for them.

As for Torre, it seems that Mickey Mouse could manage the Yankees and make the play offs every year. How can you loose in an orgainziation that spends more on the pitching staff than the Devil Rays spend on their entire team?
