The myth you are propogating is only due to 1 thing. All Man City fans are from Manchester. Not all United fans are. It does not follow that no Man United fan comes from Manchester.

I live just outside of Warrington (half way between Liverpool and Warrington) and you'll regularly see fans walking side by side wearing both Liverpool and ManU shirts on match days. Such peace and harmony is a joy to behold! Though I think it's mainly due to nobody really caring about footy - rugby league rules here.

Anyway there are a lot of glory hunters who follow liverpool and Man u
most of them have never even been to either city or ground.
Originally posted by spurs73I have, but funnily enough I've been to White Hart Lane probably more times than I've been to Old Trafford. For my sins I had a friend with a season ticket who used bring me along the odd time. I've probably been up there 10 times or so.

I've noticed the supporters ratio is about:-
- 40% United fans
- 35% Liverpool fans
- 10% Everton
- 5% Other teams
- 10% Rugby only fans
I graduated from Liverpool University and worked in Wavertree, Liverpool for 6 years.
I'd say the supporters ratio in Liverpool is:-
- 62% Everton
- 37% Liverpool
-1% other
I worked in Cheadle, which is just south of Manchester for 5 years.
I'd say that in Manchester:-
- 65% are United supporters
- 30% City supporters
- 5% Bury, Stockport, Bolton etc......
You could walk around Manchester city center in any type of football shirt and be safe.
If it was a Liverpool shirt you may get a few bad comments as people walk by.
If you were to walk around Liverpool city center in a Manchester United shirt, I would put money on you being verbally and possibly physically abused within 30 minutes.

You're like a one-man poll!!!!
Living in Sheffield:
I'd say that 46.54% are Blades
45.46% are Pigs
and the other 9% couldn't give a monkeys uncle!!!
... and like your stats ROAB, these are based on no facts whatsoever!

Going to school in the area and seeing people with football shirts on as I go out.
I've walk around both Manchester and Liverpool City center hundreds if not thousands of times.
Never had the courage to walk around Liverpool city center with my Keane 16 top on.
I wore it once when I went for a hair cut in Wavertree.
As I left the barbers, a group of about 4 or 5 10 years old looking kids pointed at me, started shouting and running towards me.
Luckily I was only a few meters away from my car, so made a lucky escape.
Been to about 200 Manchester Unied home games.
About 50 Liverpool home games, its not easy at all keeping quiet when the visitors score at Anfield.
And having lived in England for 34 years this is the top 7 things I think of when I think of Sheffield:-
1. Steal
2. Snooker
3. Wednesday
4. Neil Warnock
5. Fa Cup runs
6. Rain and Fog
7. United
