His plea was accepted. Leaked grand jury testimony is not evidence. There wasn't a trial or hearings. Vick did not present witnesses or cross-examine anyone. Prosecutors talking big don't mean squat.

Judge says to Vick... "you do know that I can sentance you for the full term of 5 years based on your plea and evidence presented to me in your case."

    Vick's mom cries.

I'll give Vick an A+ for his statement.

I made mistakes, I acted immature. I've learned my lesson. Seems he also did it unscripted. He also didn't deny a thing to the public.

Now it comes down to what he said to the judge.

Leonard Little 1998 ran a light while intoxicated BAC level twice the legal limit. Punished 8 games. 90 days in jail (he was able to serve in the offseason).
Ray Lewis accused of murdering two people. Pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice (means took some culpability). Never suspended.
In baseball, Elijah Dukes threatened to kill his wife and kids (he seemed sort of extra crazed when he sent a picture of a handgun).
They all should be punished (including Vick) but there is something wrong with the fact that Vick is expected to spend more time in jail than these other athletes.
As for the apology issue, who cares? who does it help? why are people so happy that they give him an A+?

Comparing obstruction to justice and DUI to a person that tortured and killed several dogs is just plain stupid, but to me they all should have gotten much worse, but the past does not excuse the present, and the present person deserves jail time minimum and much more!!!!

I'm comparing a fact pattern ray lewis was involved in the death of two human beings to a guy who was involved in a conspiracy to hurt dogs.
I am most upset by the complete lack of consistency.

Hey he found Jesus just like Paris Hilton! Amazing how that happens when you're trying to save face. It must be on every PR specialists "10 things to do if you're a megaceleb that has royally embarassed himself so as to salvage your career and leave some hope of wealth and fame after incarceration."

Careful. Those incidents left humans dead. To answer poundlee, I think Little and Lewis got off way too easy. No time like the present for the NFL to start doing things right though.

Bill Clinton is sneaking around the white house using secret service to help him have an affair and lies to Congress all is forgiven and his wife can be the leading candidate for president. Michael Vick smacks around a dog or two and lies to the commisioner and the Falcons owner and these self richous people might decide he's unfit to be in the NFL.
It is not just as simple as well I think Bill Clinton/ Ray Lewis/ Leonard Little or whomever got off easy. Before Michael Vick was involved no one would think dog fighting would get you banned from the NFL. One should wonder why someone gets picked out be the fall guy. The NFL did not give Warren Moon a chance to be a QB in the 70s (baseball integrated in the 40s), they always discouraged blacks from playing QB. Maybe we should wonder if people are looking to rip down the first Africa American #1 pick QB and maybe even more why no one defends him. The NFL union is the world biggest joke.
To me there will never be a perception of fairness when a whole a bunch of people committed crimes on other humans but we decide its gone too far when a guy commits a crime on an animal

I can't believe you wrote that! It's not a mistake. It's not an error in judgement.

It's at least a five year history of animal abuse. At least five years of criminal activity.

And if that wasn't scripted I don't know what was. That had more cheezy lines than the movie Grease.

    Sometimes you make me crazy...

You get an F Mr. P.

What the hell does Bill Clinton have to do with anything? You really need to focus your comments.

He gets an A for what he said. I expected him to make excuses. He did not.

Do I still hate him?! HELL YEAH. Relax.
