everyone assumes the players with the highest ratings will win. That just not true. Tourney gone wild, I drew the highest guy but lost both game to mr. p (who now I dub "my daddy"😉 who is 300pts below me now (more like 412pts when we started).Game 2492

    Tournament 2492

You need to put tid inside the square brackets for a tournament. If you use Firefox/Greasemonkey one of oroboros' scripts can automate it.

Also a 300+ advantage while it won't be enough to win every game, especially if played quickly, you still stand a decent cahnce of finishing second in that group, looks close enough that the others will take points off each other. I've managed second with 42 (I think) in a 12 player group.

well I miss spoke I am still 400pts higher then mr p that beat me 2x. I must have been closer to 500pts higher at the start. I am hopeful that I will finish 2nd and thanks for the confidence. I know I am not suppose to win every game but how about win once.

That tourney started in January. I was rated around 1300 in January and improved up to 1625(currently), its possible. People can improve, its been done before.

So tourney rating is just calculated from the past 100 games.

In any case, the frequency of this happening is most likely quite low.

To me this sort of action from a 2200 player is inappropriate and nothing like when I entered a 1500-1600 tournament when I joined the site (as, at that time, my rating had never been above 1600).

Once you know your "true" rating you should avoid entering such tournaments and if you do other players should make their feelings known by boycotting it.

    Those things can happen too.
    It has been done!

But I have not kicked anything. Strange. My opponent has not moved, so I cannot think he has become active all of a sudden just to resign two silly games.
