You don't get the point, I subscribed so I can play in tournaments, albeit not banded ones. If no one wants provisional players of any type in any tournament RHP should not allow anyone to subscribe until they have completed 20 games. If I could not play in tournaments I certainly would not have subscribed a day or so when I came upon this site. But as a paying supporter of a website, there should be some bang for my buck.

I cannot find what person you are supposed to be responding to. No one has said that provisional players should be unable to enter any tournaments. This thread talks about banded tournaments.
1st post Hopster "I don't think provisional players should be allowed to enter tournaments". Sounds to me like there is a beef with provisional players playing in any tournament.

Hopster said A new May 0-1249 tournament has just started[...] Provisional players should not be allowed to play in rated tournos

Clearly he is talking about banded tournaments.
Gezza[/b]
But then again Hopster clearly said in his 1st post
I don't think it is fair that provisional players should be allowed to enter tournaments.
We all know that quite a lot of people enter tournies way below their rating following a lots of timeout games.
It's a pain but something we need to suffer until a perfect solution comes up - and as there will never be a perfect solution, we just need to suffer this.

Agreed that there is a problem, in need of a solution. But, why should someone's grade matter in open tournaments - there is only a problem in banded.
