The first game was a white loss due to the huge disparity in rating.


In the second the white B goes to g2, no where else, in the Grob!

Not sure what opening people were trying to play. Round 2 will produce more interseting matches as players who have little idea are eliminated.

people want to learn in a fun way .... it seems the grob may be a fun quick way for weaker white players to lose to stronger opposition and get instant feedback - keeping both parties happy .... without being deluded by 28 moves of the sicilian copied from gms.

is it also a fun way for stronger white players to beat weaker black players?

I have played him 4 times, W 2 D 1 L 1

As white (against the Caro Cann) W 1 D 1. The draw was lucky, I should have lost but managed to create a repetition.

I feel I have the advantage in the Grob as I have played it 100s of times already and about 20 times here but we will see.

What a pathetic opening, so far white is 12-20, dont believe DFs hype people!! This opening is crap, even GM Keene says, "its even worse than playing f3, or h4"
