His bereavement has been well documented in this forum. I’ll pass on your good wishes for his well-being.

Do you agree with the premise in my OP that this forum and the spirituality forum are worse off without his posting?
Sorry about missing the documentation of his bereavement. My reading of the postings here is inconsistent.

Regarding my views on agreeing with the premise in your OP that this forum and the spirituality forum are worse off without his posting; I have no opinion one way or the other. I never knew much about FMF and tend to focus most of my very limited brain power on either work or chess. These forums are just a hazy and occasional endeavor for me.

Yep, Aus was sending the boat people to Manus Island where conditions were so bad people asked to go home again.
Yep Aus takes a hard line on illegal immigration which is why they don’t have big problems with it.

Privatize all education let schools and teachers decide for themselves.

Another problem solved by the free market.
The free market has never decided anything.

It's only made everything more expensive. (Shocker there.)

I view education as part of national security. Would you totally privatize national security, letting citizens decide for themselves how to organize, or not, for protection against invasion? Privatizing education, leaving curriculum decisions up to parents, will lead to an ignorant citizenry unable to compete globally in the 21st century. During the post WWII years, the U.S. has been rapidly slipping in STEM areas of education. There's a reason so many AI related companies are led by Asians and it is not genetics. It's cultural. U.S. culture tends to value brawn over brains.

Well, this is one for the books.
The UK is paying Rwanda, a country the UK itself has criticised for its lack of human rights, 250 million pounds and a further 150.000 pounds per refugee, to accept asylum seekers who “illegally” enter Britain.

It will cost the British tax payer 63.000 pounds per refugee more than keeping the refugee in Britain.

It’s obviously a schem ...[text shortened]... said guarantees that anyone sent there would not risk being returned to their home country.[/quote]
Large scale illegal immigration should be stopped dead in its tracts. I can understand a few people being persecuted and need to leave the country. Hundreds or thousands or millions ... NFW... Stop them. Send them back. Investige why this is happening. Offer some help. Eg there is a ruthless government maybe Islamic Extremists took over the country and killing nonMuslims. Then move in and kill those muslims and help set up a democratic government.

You cannot destroy your house and then come live in mine.

    So, a couple points:

    1) This document represents the plank of a political party. As such, it has no political weight because it has never been voted on and passed in any sort of referendum.

    2) Hamas states at several points they have no interesting in killing or otherwise discriminating against Jews. You can believe it or not, but this is what they say, publicly an ...[text shortened]... lay out. Presumably some sort of hudna or long-term truce, similar to the one Hamas offered in 2008.
Nobody cares what Hamas says. Neither of the Hamas Charters, 1988 or 2017 is of any significance. So why you posted all that crap is weird. Nobody reads that. Certainly the Jews, dont care.

The wise man looks at the action of Hamas, and what the people of Gaza want and support. They have made their position abundantly clear.

Of course they are weaponizing that video in their zeal to control everyone, gay marriage, no abortions for any reason, 'if that woman can't keep her legs shut, die bitch, we will pull that precious baby out your belly before you die'
so that video has nothing to do with the message the drag queen's were trying to get across and like you said it is a bit early for young kids to be getting political messages but the ultrarightwingnuts say those queers are prepping them for being gay down the line.

That interviewer neglected to say Trump had Mikey kill the border bill that would have put 20 BILLION into more border patrol, border cops, judges to handle the huge load of cases to say yea or nay to applicants which would have made that job go a lot faster but NO, Trump didn't want Biden to get ANY credit for ANYTHING.
YOU and that assshole interviewer are both fukking HYPOCRITES.

Exactly what did you expect with that right wing assswipe asking leading questions like that, not at all interested in actual debate he clearly just wanted that kid to look bad when in fact it was the interviewer who looked and probably SMELLED bad.

The obvious first step is to secure the school grounds. Make visitors buzz in and pass an office before going anywhere on the campus. Letting people wander into classrooms off the street is just too dangerous.

Children are precious and have to be protected on a secure school grounds. This bill doesn't achieve this and is just a distraction.

I note that parents would NOT be told that specific teachers were armed. That's insane. Why hide it?

Rajk999: "Read the Hamas Charter! They want to Kill the Jews!"

Spruce: "Here is the Hamas Charter. It says they don't want to kill the Jews."

Rajk999: "Nobody reads the Hamas Charter!"

    🙂
We read it because we have an interest in current affairs in that area. People in general dont read it neither do they care about what Hamas says, only about what Hamas DOES. Hamas said first their aim is to kill Jews. The fact that they change what they said but continue to DO what they want to do ie KILL JEWS, fool only the gullible. I really cannot believe that you are so taken with a stupid Hamas Charter and not once have you condemned the actions of Hamas on Oct 7th.

Hamas is probably still firing rockets into Israel
    Hamas still has hostages
    Hamas has not surrendered.

    The war continues.
    People are dying.
Hamas is at fault for the deaths in Gaza.

Jews occupied Palestine since 2000 BC....Muslims came on the scene in 600 AD, and they want to claim they own it?
Correct. Also Arab people never had control of the Land of Palestine. It was always part of some Empire. They are a conquered people and they will stay that way.

I guess because they think somehow that will deter some kid coming in with daddy's assault rifle.
Of course they wouldn't even THINK about raising the age of ownership and ability to buy such disgusting weapons till 21 would they?
