Biden said this yesterday..."""We don't know what the Fed is going to do for certain,” Biden said. “But look, we have dramatically reduced inflation from 9 percent down to close to 3 percent. We're in a situation where we're better situated than we were when we took office, where inflation was skyrocketing,” he added.""

I, and all of you, know that this is a baldfaced ...[text shortened]... e had just convinced me to vote for this liar, but now I am changing back to vote for Trump or RFK!!
Codswallop. Inflation was worldwide and caused by COVID stimulus packages and emergency Government spending. Catch up!

In speech I use 8th April, rarely add the year. If asked my date of birth I'd say 8 4 68 or perhaps 8 4 1968. If I'm writing I use just the numbers: 8/4/68. Month is never at the start or end.

Putting the day first is the sensible thing to do
Only Americans use that weird sequence which doesn't have the month in the middle where it belongs. The rest of us use either ascending or descending sequences.

No, I think the '18th century set of rules' hits a nerve, that is what voting is about. Rules. I would like to have rules back, you want to get rid of them. Certainly you have an underlying topic here, it cannot be voting. You may as well say "Just breathe'.
This post is rubbish. The topic is voting in a democratic way. End of.

    Restricting voting opportunities is undemocratic.
Preventing illegal votes isn't difficult. Feed your identity number into a machine in return for a blank voter slip. Duplications reporting does the rest. The voter slip itself cannot be matched to an individual.

Please take your irrelevant topic to one of the many appropriate threads. This thread is about voting in a democracy.

It's obvious the original poster is fooled into thinking Trump being elected would make things worse.
The sad part is when Biden got elected the wars started. The border invasion started. The retail theft got out of control. The list is endless.

Imagine thinking Trump is worse because of some mean tweets and racial talk. Big deal 🙄
Everyone knows It's much worse under Biden but we live in an age where people absolutely refuse to admit they were wrong.
The original poster is not talking about anything other than the role of voting in any true democracy. Please do not go off topic by trying to bring parties or individual names into this thread.

" If you, the rational thinker, do not vote, you will by your failure to vote allow the fanatics and idiots to choose your next president. "

so, if you vote do you become part of the "fanatics and idiots"?

by your reasoning that would be the case
Something weird about your reasoning. What point are you trying to make?

In my country, children register to place themselves on an electoral roll maintained by a fiercely independent body with permanent indexed government funding guaranteed by legislation. All of their establishments have secure premises and printed voter lists which are used to check in arrivals at voter booths. Booths operate for 10 hours on the official voting Saturday, plus a range of hours over a 2-week period beforehand. Postal votes are easy enough to get and voter names are marked when they are issued. No charge is made for any of this, nor should there be.

It's not hard to do, but people need to want it to be done right. Voting really is the key to real democratic government.
