@ Istcyr,

The 6 team league did not allow Canadians to dominate, they did that be cause they had better players whether you want to admit it or not.

Also you can not make remarks about someone being old and all that, unless you are yourself. Check Site rules!!!

Sorry you are wrong. When the regulations allow teams to claim players within their geographic area when the number of hockey players are disproportionately distributed, that is domination.

From Wikipedia: The NHL amateur draft was first held on June 5, 1963, at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Quebec. Created by Campbell, it was meant to more evenly distribute talent. To that point, teams directly sponsored junior clubs, buying a player's rights.

I admit I'm old. Check my profile. If you remember the 6 team NHL, you are old.

@Istcyr,
Why are you gong back so far, there have been many changes from that time and they were done to give the advantage to the American Teams who mainly have Canadian players on them Take the Florida Panthers who have won last two years in a row and see where many of their players come from.

EDIT: You will find many players from Canada and the European countries, only a few from the U.S.A. who we allow to play in our junior teams to improve their skills. They have one school in the U.S that Sidney Crosby went to and played for the U.S. who had the best School at that time. The Americans have been working hard on their game.

@Istcyr,

I can tell you for a fact he played the majority of them, If someone has an altercation with him that may then be the case but he played many Clans Most of anyone on the site, PERIOD!

Read your initial quote again and try to understand what I was saying.

You implied that Michael had played every clan and I was saying that he hadn't. Sorry you misunderstood me.

Uh, weren't we talking about the 6 team NHL? You mentioned it, I mentioned it. You made a comment about it. I responded. Now if you want to discuss something else about the NHL, I'll be glad to accommodate you.

@Istcyr,
I don't think you looking for a discussion you are looking for an argument, I think I'll pass on that. I don't know why you have such a chip on your shoulder!!!

You and I have only played a little over 50 games if memory serves me correct, but of course I am getting old as you were quick to point out in a previous post!!! 😉

@Istcyr,

Would that be over the games you lost or the few you won against me?

@Istcyr,

Don't be sad for me, look after yourself. I have won more championships than you've even played in I am sure. 😉 I am not even concerned I've been on enough first place Clans to last me a life time. I've always surrounded myself with better players to try and improve my game. Good luck to you with your clan, I wish I knew what your problem was with me.

@Isyctr,

I shouldn't have made that remark, sometimes I slip into my old ways.

@Istcyr,

Ok you are old enough to call me old, but I assure you my memory is still fairly sharp, if I do say so myself. 😉 Can you remember when the Goalies played with no masks, the bravest men in hockey in my opinion.

EDIT: Elizabeth Graham, a goaltender for Queen's University, is recognized as the first hockey player to wear a mask in a game, donning a fencing mask for protection on February 7, 1927. While others followed, such as Clint Benedict in 1930 and Teiji Honma in 1936, the mask did not become standard equipment until Jacques Plante popularized it in the NHL in 1959.

EDIT2: Jacques Plante was from Montreal, Quebec, if this old memory serves me right. 😉

@Very-Rusty I do remember the old days and I remember how much crap Plante got when he went to the mask. Remember when he used to draw the stitches on it for where he would have had stitches on his face if he didn't have the mask?

@Very-Rusty Well if you've won more than 647, you've got me beat. (647 is the current number. It's grown by 15 so far this year.) I thought I might be the only one who kept track so I'd love to know how many you've won.
