Buckingham is a fine guitarist, quite unique. But Green is da man.

Fleetwood Mac sold its soul to the pop music industry after Peter Green left, their early blues-influenced music is undoubtedly preferable to the market-friendly crowd-pleasing nonsense which came afterwards.

By far Green is better. Mac's music was unique before Buckingham and only so so afterwards.

I'd vote for after. Green was a fine talent, but the band became truly great when Miss Nicks and Mr. Buckingham came on the scene!

Must say I'm a Lindsey fan also. Unique and strange packed with talent.

The songwriting improved post-Green. Musicianship did not. Rumours was still one heck of an LP.

Close call but I'll go with the Green period. Boy, did Green ever get electic after Mac.

Green is indeed a unique talent! And Rumours is indeed a great album! Few albums in history have been so schockful of great songs. I doubt they expected the huge commercial success of the album.

Buckingham is 3 times the guitarist Green ever was. Still, Green's songs hold up well. The Rumours line-up wins by a nose.

I Got a Black Magic Woman. 'nough said. The Blues band was timeless, the pop band that came later was just another pop band.
