That was me. It started as something completely different and I drank too much one evening and it took a decidedly silly turn.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who participated.

mmm. I think I know all about that method of writing.
Mine was Something Devilish, written in two evenings and edited down to (a wrongly counted it seems) 666 words in a third evening.

The three evenings seemed to account for four bottles of red wine???
I think we need to do one of theesh eventsh again ... (hic) ... 'twas great fun.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my story and well done to Gatecrasher - nice double there.

The tricky part for me was getting what I wanted said into just 666 words (so tricky - and I blame the third bottle here - that I got the count hopelessly wrong anyway). It's a very short time to introduce characters, establish any plot and still get anything meaningful across.

Good work all and I look forward to the next one(s).

Who says it was wrongly counted? The word count in Word says it's exactly 666 words (without the title).

My own count says it's exactly 666 words with the title.

Thanks for putting this together, CFT. Hopefully next time I'll get something put together in time.
I wonder if an open prose thread would be at all successful (no rules, open format). It seems most don't do well unless put to a deadline, but, there's some definite talent here. A little RHP compilation would be publishable in my opinion.
