@jimm619 saidOf course, Jimm, we could have a socialist government like thy do in Venezuela, where the state-owned PDVSA's production leveled has dropped dramatically since the State took control of it to stop profiteering, and the country has to import gasoline from Iran.
Yeah, one company (Exxon/Mobil),

@athousandyoung saidOh, yeah...? And what do you think Congress will do with that extra revenue?
If only Congress would do their job and tax the rich then we wouldn't have these problems
HINT: It's not what you *think* they will do
@wildgrass saidYes, that - and CEO's moving out of country, over time.
That wouldn't stop anything. There'd suddenly be a lot of CEOs getting 30k a year in income while somehow retaining their mansions, yachts and million acre ranches.

Tell me, did you vote for the lying, draft dodger, TRUMP, as well?

@metal-brain saidIt's mainly not as much government subsidising of big corporations, oil and otherwise.
Is there a lack of refining capacity in your country too or is the higher cost due to taxes?
Whenever you find someone clamouring for "small goobermint", you know he's really after big government payola to big corporations.

@jj-adams saidGas in the UK just hit $11/gallon.
It all boils down to the laws of supply and demand.
WHO is responsible for the supply of home-grown USA oil decreasing?
Want to blame that on Biden too ??
I asked in another thread a while back what gas would cost under the GOP.
The key here being that they don't back away from the global attempt to flight the climate change threat.
My question was would any government tell the public that they will discontinue their fight against global warming.
And do you believe that the climate threat is a hoax ?
If some people in this forum take a position on how to lower gas prices, then they have to give us their full position.

@mghrn55 saidThatd be great but not how partisan debates work anymore. Doesn't matter what it is or caused by. Good things were trump's hard work paying off. Bad things are Biden. It's less work for the brain that way.

As distasteful as it is to go the Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, it is still easier to disengage from them than it is to reverse any steps taken so far to deal with climate change.
