@shavixmir saidYes, I agree, but as the old saying goes: You just can't fix stupid.
That, my friends, is so bizarre that it’s not worth writing an actual post about.

@shavixmir saidI'd like to see a break down of these gun deaths and where they occur, who's doing them, etc.
That, my friends, is so bizarre that it’s not worth writing an actual post about.

@shavixmir saidIs your figure right? I think it is more like 40,000.
That, my friends, is so bizarre that it’s not worth writing an actual post about.
Anyway, what the stat makers are so slow to admit is, the vast majority of the gun deaths in America are suicide.

@earl-of-trumps saidIt's 60 percent suicide.

@shavixmir said73,000 drug related deaths and 70,000 alcohol related. what point are you making?
That, my friends, is so bizarre that it’s not worth writing an actual post about.
@shavixmir said4000? That's nothing compared to alcohol and drug related deaths. I have personally seen two lovely teen girls killed by alcohol drinking.

@mott-the-hoople said73,000? That's nothing compared to the Holocaust.
73,000 drug related deaths and 70,000 alcohol related. what point are you making?
So let's stop trying to fix any problem.

@kazetnagorra said1. If you're serious about tackling problems, you start with the most destructive problems first.

2. If you're serious about tackling any problem, you tackle the true cause, not the symptoms.

@bunnyknight said1. Fortunately it is possible to tackle more than one problem at a time.
1. If you're serious about tackling problems, you start with the most destructive problems first.
2. If you're serious about tackling any problem, you tackle the true cause, not the symptoms.
2. Who doesn't want to "tackle the true cause"? How many people have you heard saying: "yeah no, we shouldn't tackle the cause, let's focus on the symptoms."

@mott-the-hoople saidAlcohol = done it yourself.
73,000 drug related deaths and 70,000 alcohol related. what point are you making?
Drugs = done it yourself.
Guns = 40% done by someone else.
Hence the difference in approach.
