CNN Poll: 75% of Democratic voters want someone other than Biden in 2024

A new CNN poll finds 75% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters want the party to nominate someone other than President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, a sharp increase from earlier this year.

The poll comes as Biden’s approval ratings remain low and most Americans are discontented with the state of the country and the economy. Inflation remains high and a new report released Tuesday showed consumer confidence slipped for the third straight month.

what about you, do you want him to run?

@Mott-The-Hoople
I can't believe 25% of Dems want him to run again.
Nobody in their right mind would want him for another term.

No. The only reason to ever vote for Biden is that he's not Trump.

I think he’ll decline for health reasons to save his blushes and I think Kamala will be out of the running by association she hasn’t exactly set the stage alight.
Are there front runners for 2024

So far Gavin Newsome is the pick of the litter by Dems, because he's done such an awesome job in California.

No, presidents rarely ever face a primary and and those who have lost the general election.

The corporate Dems made sure Sanders lost, who was someone Dems actually wanted. A president who's unpopular with his own party is what they've reaped. Dems need a purge of all non-progressive politicians.

Sanders is no spring chicken himself but do you think the US can afford a democrat candidate that might not attract the middling swing voter. I’ll be surprised if Biden does run he is literally past it in terms of presentation and potus elections are at least fifty percent presentation. If he does run he’ll have to hope trump runs too.

I don't get why it's only Democrats that have to appeal to moderate voters wile Republicans get more extreme and more right-wing.

Trump can call Mexican immigrants drug-peddling rapists while calling for a ban on all Muslims, but Dems have to be the ones to make concessions. A conservative Justice said we should repeal gay marriage at the same time he helped strike down abortion, yet Dems need to be more moderate?

Republicans are winning elections by appealing to their more extreme demographics. Dems need to start pushing progressive policies, not kowtowing middle-of-the-road voters. Dems need to learn from Republicans in that success comes from sticking to their ideology not backing down from them to appeal to moderates.

My non-partisan opinion is that 'we the people' really need to flush the political toilet several times and then find some new candidates for all of us to consider.

Well you’d know the size of that left wing dem base better than me and what the swing vote will worry more about.
You could be right though given how extreme the GOP is just now and the kind of krank candidate they’ll be putting forward it may be an opportunity to get an actual left of centre administration into the White House for once, maybe if the majority see something new that isn’t psychotic on offer they may turn out for it.
If it’s trump or some blatant ‘Christian Nationalist candidate you could put pretty much anyone up.

It’s a definite motif with him, 25% sounds like wishful thinking.
