Procedures matter. Due process is designed to prevent tyrants from throwing people into prisons without charge and without access to legal counsel.
Never said procedures dont matter. Getting results matter more. Proper procedures should produce results. This thread is about USAID, so dont try to include other matters. In this matter of aid and US spending, it has already been established by US officials many times in many countries, that the level of corruption is so high that as much as 80% of the aid does not reach its intended recipient. People have been named and yet nothing is done.

Who is the tyrant here?

That’s not a reason to terminate the entire program on such short notice. It would be a reason to demand accountability and monitor results more carefully. Trump’s canceling USAID was equivalent to shutting down hospitals because of some cases of malpractice.

The tyrant is Trump, who is in breach of due process and violating the separation of powers. It’s called executive over-reach, and more than one judge has rendered his edicts void for that very reason.

how does it help someone when the money is diverted before it gets to them?

Off the top of my head, this is not the whole story and I will check into it and respond further. For now, I know that about 80% of the aid was cancelled, USAID agency was brought under a new dept can renamed UNAIHD. Much of the aid which was considered critical was reinstated, such as for urgent health needs and food support in areas plagued by famine.

So this nonsense about Trump killing millions of people in Africa is just leftwing rubbish and dramam, brough about by ignorance .. [not you].

What Trump did was stop dead in its tracks the wonton wastage in many African countries. Many African reporters, and those in the know and on the ground praised this move by Trump, because they know their country was plagued by this corruption.

Well, let’s see the reports. This one disputes that aid to Gaza was being diverted:

Again give me some time to research this one. But from reports I already read in the last year or so, Hamas leaders had large personal accounts in Qatar, in the $$$ Billions US, plus these tunnels they built were pretty expensive. Are those their personal funds? I doubt it.

Isn’t it possible they were also getting funds from Iran ?

Hamas skimmed billions of aid money to build tunnels.

doesnt prove anything...

"saying no State Department official had seen it and that it "was likely produced by a deep state operative"

No ... that one refers to humanitarian aid in the last year or so. I am referring to the roughly one billion US$$$ in aid Hamas receives every year from various govts to maintain Gaza residents.

You really are a POS, there are LITERALLY thousands of children starving to death in Sudan and other hell holes when they were kept alive with a peanut butter bar, LITERALLY just that, at less than a buck per kid. Now USAID money gone, no more peanut butter bars and kids LITTLE KIDS are dying 100% because of Musk and Trump.

Trump and his friends are donating the money to do it, no tax dollars will be spent on it.
You must have missed that part of it.
