Oh please.
Shut up. You're going to make my head explode.
HOW THE F^^K CAN LEGALISING ABORTIONS INCREASE CRIME???
HOW?
HOW THE FFING HOW???
God damn, where's my valium.
By DSR's own logic it is both the working classes & those in deprived areas who are
a) Most likely to commit crimes
and
b) Most likely to have partners who have unwanted pregnancies
Therefore, logic dictates that if you have fewer of these working class scum in years to come, good hardworking righteous folk like DSR will be able to pollute the atmosphere in peace.

Except that terminating a pre-sentient fetus -- i.e. one that can't even feel pain yet, which is the case before about 26 weeks into the pregnancy -- is not murder.

So did I until I read Lott's study.
That's all it takes for you to be sure of something? The first thing you read on a subject and you're committed so dearly so you are fightin' to convince all of us?
I usually read a great deal about a subject, on all positions and interpretations, before I'm satisfied to take a position as stridently as you have here.

To understand why abortion might not cut crime, one should first consider how dramatically it changed sexual relationships. ......Once abortion became widely available, people engaged in much more premarital sex, and also took less care in using contraceptives. Abortion, after all, offered a backup if a woman got pregnant, making premarital sex, and the nonuse of contraception, less risky. In practice, however, many women found that they couldn’t go through with an abortion, and out-of-wedlock births soared. Few of these children born out of wedlock were put up for adoption; most women who were unwilling to have abortions were also unwilling to give up their children. Abortion also eliminated the social pressure on men to marry women who got pregnant. All of these outcomes — more out-of-wedlock births, fewer adoptions than expected, and less pressure on men “to do the right thing” — led to a sharp increase in single-parent families.
Not a single one of these individual actions mentioned above would be one I would be willing to limit or curtail in a free society. It is your RIGHT in this country to:
1) Divorce who you will
2) Not marry who you don't wish to
3) Have premarital sex
3a) Have irresponsible premarital sex
3b) Have crazy, wild, hot, sweaty, irresponsible premarital sex. 😀
4) Choose your form of birth control (or none at all)
5) Choose not to adopt a child.
6) Choose not to abort your fetus.
That's because in modern society we have liberty. Freedom to do right. Freedom to screw up. Freedom to learn. Freedom to stay dumb.
While some of us may disapprove of a person's actions, freedom is what it is.
You say you like freedom but only if it means folks do and not do exactly what you think they should and should not. And that is no freedom at all.
and yes 7). Freedom to abort your fetus.
