Went to a couple of BLM demonstrations though; some of us get a little concerned when the State's paramilitary forces keep killing civilians at high rates. Not something "limited government conservatives" seem to worry about though for some reason.

2019 is the last year I could find comparable stats, but a civilian is about 3.5 times more likely to be killed by police in the US than in Canada and about 4 times more likely than Australia.

You and the other right wingers surely don't want to look at the figures in Europe and Japan.

"IF" that happens all you'll see is gridlock in DC. Biden won't get anything passed because Mitch will sit on the legislation and refuse to bring it to a vote, and the GOP won't get anything passed because they won't have the votes to overcome a Presidential veto. It will be early 2023, I'll be preparing for the next OTB tournament. No internet and no TV. Just Me, the board, a large room full of chess nerds, and 3 glorious days without listening to a bunch of lying weasels in expensive suits. 🙂

So you don’t think that election denying republicans running for office and in particular state level candidates pledging to return the electors of their choice rather than those of the general electorate is not a threat to democracy. Is it already contentious and inflammatory to tell the truth in the US.

There is an outside chance the House can be kept sane, too.

It's too bad about New York. A judge ruled this year that New York had a gerrymander, but unlike similar rulings this year in several gerrymandered red states, the New York judge insisted that the gerrymander had to be fixed immediately. The gerrymandered red states, meanwhile, got to skate by and keep their gerrymander for the current election cycle.

But for this one gross judicial inequity, the Democrats would all but certainly have kept the House.
