Is that the America you mean Joe?
Your point is that people who became Americans when they walked off the were from Europe, and China, etc..
I will write that in my journal. Hard to keep up with the fast pace of you fellers.

Your America did not exist until 1783 so I’m not sure where your getting 400 year figure from and then it was wave after wave of immigrants from Europe and Asia and not forgetting the wages of African upon which your wealth was based in large part.
You’ve probably begun a thread based on a more disingenuous and inaccurate premise but this one is definitely up there in your top ten

Yeah.
As compared to the thousands of years the indians had to do make something besides teepees and bows and arrows.
If it hadn't been for Europeans, they'd still be living exactly the same as they did a thousand years ago.
Same can be said for Africans and South Americans..

Please compare unknown 'english guy' to the known 'bill gates'.
Unknown? Alan Turing unknown?

He’s the guy who cracked the bloody enigma code.

Seriously. Sometimes you sound like you didn’t go to school or something.

I respectfully disagree, simply because, with all the knowledge brought here from Europe, et al, we seem to have surpassed, in 400 years, all of Europe and certainly the east in every advancement. Y'all had the same knowledge, but seem to have ground to a comfortable halt.....we don't slow down.
Define 'every advancement' any way you can imagine.
Which advancements?
You mean nazi and Jap post ww2 technology?
Or do you mean Cuba having a lower child mortality rate?
Or do you mean cars? Like Mercedes, BMW, Porche…
Or do you mean infrastructure like the Dutch have?

Which advancements do you really mean?

Bill Gates reverse engineered Apple's OS.

Arrgghhhhh. It appears that AverageJoe1 is nailed by Moonbus and by this link!!

Americans didn't invent rockets either. America imported rocket technology from the Germans after WWII. e.g., Werner Von Braun. The Germans were also way ahead in magnetic tape and photographic recording technologies in the 1940s (e.g. Agfa, etc.). Just google it. Americans didn't invent the automobile either. Karl Benz did. Just google it. I've been to the town where he built his first self-powered vehicles, Ladenburg; there's a museum in his honour.

I suspected you were talking about Alan Turing.

And Charles Babbage before that.

And it was a paradise.
They spent all their time warring against neighboring tribes so they could take each other's stuff and make slaves out of each other, if they didn't torture them to death.
They froze in the winter, burned up in the summer, if they got sick or got an infection from a scratch or eating spoiled meat, they died. They treated women like dogs and had to do whatever the Big Chief of the week said to do.
Yeah, some kind of paradise.

Obviously, the immigrants who built america had to come from somewhere, so what is your point.? They hit the beaches, became americans, nor more potato famine, started agriculture, the rest is history. Your ref to 1783 is when we put pen to paper, got official. Actually we cranked it up at Plymouth Rock, Jamestown, St Augustine,,,all iin early 1600. We all went to work while bakers in Netherlands were stocking their little stores with Sroppwafels .Hopje and licorice....it is like they stopped right about then, while we were really really craniking it up, inventing independence, airplanes and capitalism!!! (sorry, Marauder).
