It’s a simple assertion made using a simple poetic vehicle. We know it’s the assertion that you’re at odds with but attacking the vehicle won’t damage the assertion.
Another word for ‘simple’ is ‘elegant’ and the poem is elegant in its simplicity wether you like the assertion or not.
You know the, ahem, poet, simply wrote down a bunch of rhyming words or more likely used an online rhyming generator, chose the most unimaginative, derogatory, obvious generalisations from amongst them, wrapped it up, called it art, and has suzi frothing her panties.
Which as I've said before, tells us a great deal about what she is and how gullible she is.

Hand up, I failed school cert English, but for poetry, to read or listen to, I'd go for something like 'If'.
