From the great state that brought us Kirsten Senema comes a school voucher law, signed by Arizona's Republican governor, that allows parents to opt out of "any public school that fails to educate their children or reflect their values."

In case you can't read between the lines, Arizona's Republican-controlled House passed a measure to change their constitution to ban CRT. You read that right: they don't want to make CRT merely illegal, they want it to be made unconstitutional in their state. So you can guess what kind of "values" this red state is referring.

Which brings us to this: Arizona has now declared that teachers no longer need a college degree:

No college degree needed to be a teacher in Arizona. Let that sink in.

Arizona had a very serious shortage of teachers, which Republicans claim is their motivation for allowing uneducated teachers in public schools. However: Arizona has the *lowest* salaries for teachers in the country. Part of the reason why is that Arizona is pumping money into these idiotic school vouchers rather than funding teachers.

Charter and private school teachers in Arizona do not not need any special license or certification to teach kids. This means that if a parent wants to send their kids to a school that teaches creationism or that slavery wasn't actually bad, the state will actually pay for your vouchers to do so.

Here's the cherry on top: this may spread to other conservative states. Remember that quote I posted? That came from David Berliner, an education psychologist at Arizona State University and former president of the American Educational Research Association. Here is his quote in full:

"Every red state in the country should follow [Ducey's] lead," since the law "gives every family a right to exit any public school that fails to educate their children or reflect their values."

This is what you can expect from the on-coming red-wave.

Never mind that "woke" has ZERO to do with what you think it means.

Charter schools have taken over the public school system in Arizona for quite a while now. I wouldn't raise a kid in Arizona right now or into the forseeable future.

I totally agree.

You’re creating whole generations living in fantasy worlds with no clear distinction between what actually is and what’s make-belief (mental constructs).

Whether it’s extreme wokeism or extreme republicanism… both are just flip sides of the same kind of moronity. The belief that the individual’s interpretation of reality is more important than actual reality.

Agreed but at least we know what male and female is. 🤷

We also don't dwell on events that happened 200 years ago and cry about it.

They said math was racist 🤔 and a wrong answer can still be right 🤣

What does "wokeism" have to with anything? CRT is merely teaching history.

Do you prefer children being taught some invisible guy in the sky Harry-Pottered everything into existence over evolution being taught? That's what your words are promoting.

Not at all. Wokeism is merely annoying.

Republicanism is actually damaging the country by taking away rights like abortion, changing election laws to skew votes in their favor, or blocking gun legislation aimed at stopping America's insane amount of gun deaths.

People like Bill Maher keep pushing this idea that idiots demanding twenty different pronouns is equivalent to the racism and rights-stripping of Republicans. It's not. Children aren't getting slaughtered in schools as a result of "woke" laws.

Feel free to take a leak on "wokeism" all you want but claiming it's a problem on par with what Republicans are doing is getting tiring.

this is because of biden shutting everything down (Trump was right to try to keep everything up and running during virus)

Now we are seeing the results, that coupled with teachers unions dictating to biden what they want.

It is not just one state being forced to do this.

The game these libs play, they create a problem them blame the other side when they are forced to find a cure for the problem.
