I am sorry. My bad. This is one of the first times I have probably done this. The thread name is What is the best place to live in the world not What is the best place to live in the word.😀

OK, thanks for clarifying. I was going say John 3:16 or something. 😉 I'll nominate two in this country. Western half: Portland, Oregon Eastern half: Asheville, NC

Hmmm, how specific do you want us to be?

If you're talking countries, I'd say the one I'm visiting right now, that would be Australia. Great diversity, from desert to snowy mountains and pretty much everything in between.

Any more specific and I'd have to think about it a bit harder.

Countries: Australia, Sweden (a close second)

Cities: Melbourne, Australia (and light years to the next city, but then i am biased)

In order of preference:
1. Tennessee, USA
2. Tennessee, USA
3. Tennessee, USA...green hills, good people, clean water, clean air...and, of course, FREEDOM....🙂

I have to tell you, I din't much like Melbourne. Sorry.

I'm much of city person anyway, but I just didn't feel a good 'vibe' in Melbourne.

I'm in Sydney now, and liking it better, although it's still just big, smelly and horrible, like all cities.

I'm sure Melbourne's nice...come to Tennessee and see the Smokey Mountains on a Fall day when the colors of the leaves are unmatched (in my opinion). Drive up Skyline Parkway in the Appalachian Mountains and experience God's country...then drive down to Macon, Georgia and see the slums of Bloomfield...like night and day...figuretively speaking....no, I have heard that Melbourne is nice...would love to visit...😉

I grew up in Sydney and was glad to move to Melbourne. I am up in Sydney writing but hope to go back hometo Melbourne. The 'vibe' in Melbourne is much nicer, well in my humble opinion, than Sydney.

Spent som time living near the Arctic circle in Sweden, now that is nice but so very different.

It all depends what mood I'm in, what I'm looking for and what I need.

Utrecht Holland is quite good. It's like a less-commercial version of Amsterdam. The drugs are good and it's situated in the center of Holland.

London is fantastic. Paris is fantastic and I loved Jerusalem as well.

But, whatever you do. Do not go and live in Hellevoetsluis... Seriously, avoid the place.

Not to reinforce any stereotypes people have of the Dutch...😵

Just as a counterweight from a sensible Dutchman: There aren't any "good" drugs. They all will damage your health one way or the other.

I love Louisville, KY. The Kentucky Derby is only the best event in the world besides the Olympics. I love to see all the horses and and celebs. Plus there is a ton of ethnic diversity, which isn't so common where I live now. Plus I love the variety of schools and shopping malls you can choose from. That is my favorite place in the world.

Everyone has mentioned nice things about the areas, i.e. Scenery, clean air. But I have to say that my favorite place is where I live now, in my native North East of England. Not pretty, but the people here are the most down to earth and friendliest people on the planet. And thats what draws me to places, not the location but the inhabitants.
