Look, folks. Let's just take a step back and look at this rationally, shall we? The point isn't whether the pardon was "right" or "wrong" or who opened the door for this sort of thing (Trump did plenty of pardoning, but his was hardly unprecedented - remember Marc Rich?).

This is really not a partisan issue. It's a human nature issue. Even if Biden were clean as the driven snow and a dedicated public servant and even if he were in full possession of his faculties (all unlikely assumptions), it would be asking a LOT of human nature to ask an old man with power to protect his son from going to prison to not do so; ESPECIALLY when he has nothing left to protect politically. As for protecting the Democratic party, why in the World should he want to protect an organization that just kicked him to the curb (albeit with good reason)?
