Interesting. I used to get this news letter called School of the Americas watch which said all sorts of terrible things about the U.S. training military personel to impose control over south American countries, oust any leaders they didn't like, and basically impose military rule. I never really looked into it, but if it is even remotely true then I can see why they love this guy.

How long till the US starts bleating on about rigged elections?

Any statements on this from the White House yet?

The White house will probably resond to a press question about this today I would guess. (You KNOW they're gonna ask. It's there job.) And at some point I expect Jimmy Cartuh to make a statement about how legit the election was. As if it really matters what the White House or former President Cartuh think.

I do too. As long as he does not move in next door to me. 'Lil too much bluster for my peaceful neighborhood. I think he would ruin the quaintness here in Detroilet.

I guess it matters if Carter was there in some kind of observer status?

Populists should not be trusted. It doesn't matter if they are from the left or from the right.

Lay off of Carter. It's okay that you rip Bush, he deserves the crticism, but leave a man of peace alone. Your play on his name diplays a sense of intorence as well. It totally deflates any comment that you make. Grow up!

Being a "man of peace" does not make one above critisism or insult. He should be afforded no more protections from ritual lampooning than you feel Bush is entitled too. That's what the 1st ammendment is for.
Personally, I feel that Washington and Lincoln are the 2 most important men in Americas history, but I welcome any and all wooden teeth or silly hat jokes. heck, you can even make polio jokes as long as they're directed toward FDR.
Approving insult of one President while claiming another should have some sort of blanket protection is nothing more than political hacksmanship.

That's a very good question. And yes, it would have more significance if he was there observing. Not much though, I doubt any one observing could really be expected to know what is going on at every polling stating.
And it doesn't matter if it was rigged or not, (I personally doubt it was) because it doesn't change the fact that Chavez is the President.

No, the Democrats have been quiet about this one.

Are the Democrats in the White House? Did I miss a memo?

No politician should be trusted, whether popular or not.
