Latin American politics kicks ass!
Indeed. Perhaps with the advent of such a win, Hillary might consider putting him on the ticket when she runs for President. After all, he seems popular to the masses and all. It would be a match made in heaven.

Cavez isn't like Hitler or Mussolini! They are at totally opposite ends of the spectrum. For example, Mussolini was backed by most of the Catholic church, as was Franco. Hitler made a deal with the popoe to turn a blind eye to what he was doing. On the other hand, Chavez has reffered to religion as a "cancer". Some differences here. Also, Chavez has been voted in several times by an overall majority- something Hitler failed to do.

The usual lies about the Roman Catholic Church. Did Hitler make a deal with the Pope to turn a blind eye ? The usual nonsense.

Have you read the encyclicals "Non Abbiamo Bisogno" published in 1931 and "Mit Brennender Sorge", published in 1937 ?

There you can read about the enmity, no friendship at all, between the Holy See on one hand and the fascist regimes in Italy and Germany at the other hand at the time.

It appears the RC church weren't enemies with facism, as you imply. More complex than that.

Have you read the a more objective than the things which we are discussing, e.g. wikipedia. They mention these encyclicals, but say that there's more to it then that.
