@averagejoe1 saidGee you're right; it would be best if almost all the countries in the world got together and negotiated a framework for each to take steps to slow the increase in world wide temperatures and thus reduce the effects of climate change. I wonder why no one ever thought of it before you?
Sorry, once again I have to add a little fluff. Of Course the climate is getting a wee bit warmer, but libs have to prove we are causing it. Naaa
Hey , when you and AOC get rid of oil, motors and cows, and all the other stuff in between, will China and India , Korea, and New Guinea and Chad all be pitching in? @averagejoe1 saidThe number of coal-fired power plants in a nation is not the most illuminating figure. To compare apples to apples look instead at the terawatt-hours of electricity that a nation generates per annum with coal.
Sue do you have ANY idea about coal plants in the world? Maybe 15 in USA, and thousands in China. And, You honor me with calling me conservative. I cannot IMAGINE spending each day in the many quests of getting stuff from other people. Y’all think about it as natural, as a matter of course. Brrrr
From https://www.iea-coal.org/top-coal-fired-power-generating-countries/
China
Producing 4,360.9TWh of power from coal-fired facilities, China occupies the first place in the list...
US
The US continues to generate a significant amount of its electricity from coal. In 2017, the North American country produced 1,314TWh of electricity from coal-fired power plants...
So China produced about 3.3 times more electricity from coal than the US.
This means, of course, your statement about the US having "maybe" 15 coal plants while China has "thousands" is sensationalistic twaddle that distorts reality beyond recognition. As usual.
@soothfast saidYes apples with apples, a good point. Do you have the numbers on how the coal fired power stations of the US compare with the coal fired power stations in China compare in terms of efficiency and discharge?

@suzianne saidPerhaps caissad4 can help you out with some recent doom and gloom chicken little headlines:
I'll give you a chance to explain what you mean before I blow you off as yet another conservative idiot.
Caissad4 in an earlier post, this thread:
"How about ?
The Amazon is burning right now .
The permafrost in Siberia is melting at an alarming rate and is on fire right now.
The permafrost in Alaska is melting at an alarming rate right now.
The Arctic ice is melting at an alarming rate right now .
No could , just is .
I just pointed out the story behind the story in the case of the Amazon forest burning i.e. some NGO's had their goobermint funding cut, they got butt hurt, so they decided to act like entitled little bytches and go on a campaign of dis-information.
Dramatic headlines are all that's required for folk like caissad4 and yourself.
Hook, line, sinker.

it is worth noting that on average, China's coal plants work more efficiently than those in the United States, due to their relative youth.
@soothfast saidGreat quote... that one's a keeper.
Um...because science.

@soothfast saidWiki cites as the source for most of the article a string of CPC state buratcracies.

@no1marauder saidThe source of my question was myself.
What sources have you quoted?
You see No1, it was a question. The answer was; let's take the word of a string of CPC public relations buratcracies via wiki.
Message received.
@averagejoe1 saidNot nearly enough, I'm afraid.
Just enough to make me realize there is no proof we contribute to it. I know the temp may be up 1 degree over the past many many years. Nature’s way. Spect it will go back down 2 degrees over the next 10,000 years. Nature’s way.

The post that was quoted here has been removedI agree, every country should make use of their coal, Australia particularly. You can see the resistance to putting up new coal power plants in the US (and Aus is another one that's bought into the green agenda) and it comes from the green movement.
They count it as a victory, every obstacle that goes in the way of a new power station, as compliance and planning and PR costs go up the longer the old style power stations have to patched up and kept going.
Thanks a lot greenies for forcing older less efficient power stations to remain open.
@no1marauder saidSoothfast seems satisfied with the source so I assume he thinks the question has been answered. He might be very serious about his answer.
Who else could possibly answer your question?
No one, so the question wasn't serious.
If I had a reputable source it would have been quoted, rather than asking the question.
Are you menstruating or something?
